  • The MSE link is working fine this morning on a desktop browser and I get the correct £100 cash boost page. I've cleared everything on my phone and tried various mobile browsers and still get an alternate no management fees for 12 months page, so I think it must be iOS 16.x blocking trackers of some sort.

I've had the spinny ball of death for 9 hours since completing KYC checks last night though, so I don't think it likes me and I can't stomach any more coffee.

FWIW I get exactly the same behaviour as @PloughmansLunch, but I'm running Android.

Tried multiple browsers (so cookies/history can be ruled out) and the link for accessing the Ts&C's also doesn't work for me from mobile browser.

Useful to know that desktop browser works for you @PloughmansLunch, I'll try that later.

I have just tried to sign up... everything was fine until I got to the part where I had to accept the T & Cs. On Firefox these were a separate pdf that I downloaded and I had no way to indicate that I accepted them (the 'Accept' button continued to be greyed out). On Chrome the T & Cs were embedded within the form and so I could review each page and scroll to the end, but again no way to accept them.

Anyway, who needs an extra hundred squid? I bet they tasted sour anyway!

I wish I had read this thread an hour ago. I've signed up and I haven't seen any references to the promo code. I accessed the site using the MSE link with the Firefox browser.  I assumed the MSE link would automatically take care of it.

Opened a GIA and funded it using my iphone.

No issues with the code but had issues with funding via their recommend bank transfer method (Using Yapily Connect, which I’m assuming is Open Banking tech).

Did a faster payment bank transfer from my banking app instead. 2 working days for it to be credited and then a further 3 working days to invest.

went for level 6, which was ~86:14 equity:bond split. Approx 1% fee so pretty high but hopefully offset nicely by the £100 reward.

Opened an account without any issues, though was not a quick process.
The MSE code was added automatically via the browser and accepting cookies. I assume this means the 1000 customer limit has not been reached.

£500 transferred via faster payment which takes 2 days.

My application was opened on the PC (running Firefox) without issue and no need to provide id. My wife's on the other hand...
It asked for id - download of a passport photo was acceptable and after downloading from camera it prompted for a selfie... on the PC with no webcam!!! No option here for taking a photo and downloading it. Had to use a smartphone to log into her a/c and photo the passport again and take selfie. Now the wheel of death is spinning round with the message "Your account is being activated. This may take a few minutes. Feel free to have a coffee and come back later to start your first investment. All your info will be saved". A "few minutes" has now been more than an hour" so I guess that the staff that check the selfie against the passport have gone home for the day.
I'll check again in the morning. What a faff!

Mine is finally activated and funding on its way, but to do so I had to get customer service involved to nudge the IT team as I had the spinny ball for the best part of 15 hours stuck on the same part you mention.
  • I had the spiny ball too. Then when I reloaded, I noticed it had taken the offer away so had to reload again.

    It did work eventually.

As above, a 1% fee does seem a bit high. But even with a £5 fee and a potential investment loss it’s near enough guaranteed money.
