It doesn't work in Maryhill Store in Glasgow.

I took Ben's checklist with me so I knew I had the right ones. One was £21.61 the other £21.95 so within the correct price range.

I went through the self scan with some other bits and pieces and it didn't work - only took £5 off of each.

Made some excuse that I only realised when they were in the carrier back that they would probably be too heavy for me to carry home on the bus with the other bags of presents I already had and would actually get them tomorrow instead.
  • Has anyone tried this in the Norfolk stores?? I'm itching to try it but don't know if I've got the bottle :o
  • Well I thought that this was a good deal yesterday, but I have to say that today's is even better! I've just managed to get 4 for free! Could have been greedy & got more but thought i'd leave some for any other MSE!

I've just delivered one to friends and they were thrilled.:T Got more to dish out tomorrow,Merry Christmas!

    :xmassign:

On another note i'm 39 weeks pregnant & really should not come on this site as i can't resist a bargain! I don't know, dragging me out in order to get freebies! :rotfl:

Got 4 tonight, all priced between £20-£23, thanks very much to all for the info.
  • Got 4 in kingston MK yesterday for £5 each. None left tonight unfortunately - probably because half the planet is there shopping!

    Interesting this.

I bought a piece of free gammon this morning and went back again this afternoon with a friend. We both had a piece of gammon that was identical to the piece I bought in the morning. However we went through the self scan this time but only the £5 was taken off. I wondered if it was the self scan that made the difference??

    Who knows.

I am delighted with my bargain
    Thanks again

Er I should think lugging around 4 huge gammon joints would not be recommended;)
Good luck, and I should think someone should be cooking Christmas dinner for you - slaving over a hot oven in your condition is not recommended - tell your hubby from me!:D
Put your feet up and just savour the smell of Christmas dinner being cooked for you - I'll be lucky to get any help with the washing up:rolleyes:

Just come back from the King Cross, Halifax store where the offer doesn't work NOR does it take the SEL advertised £5 off.

Took the customer service lady to the shelf where she verified that the £5 discount was correct. I have been refunded double the difference for overcharge ie. £10.00 against each joint (bought 2).

If you're around Halifax, you may wish to know that there are 4 unsmoked joints at this store with dates 2nd Jan '08 waiting for you on a DTD basis. They are nice big juicy joints ready for Christams with £10 off!
One hundred years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.
