I live in Poland (I have a dual SIM phone with both a UK number and a Polish number). I take advantage of the fact that there is no extra charge for calling to the UK from Poland using my UK number. Can anyone please advise me who I should switch to so that I can call the UK from Poland without paying extra. Or am I just ignorant of the fact that you can do this with any provider?
    Many thanks in advance.
How much calling to the UK do you do? I would suggest investigating any supplier that uses O2 network as they still have free roaming in the EU.

Do you come back to the UK at all? Many (all?) suppliers will have a maximum period of days that you can use a sim out of the UK. e.g. for O2 themselves:
"Using our services in our Europe Zone for more than 63 days in any four-month period is what we consider to be unfair use. If you do this we’ll send you a fair usage notification by text. If you continue to use these services after we’ve notified you, we’ll apply surcharges for further usage that we recognise as overage."
  • I received an email this morning with the "exclusive" EE deals - not impressed especially as we are struggling to use the mobile downstairs - think I'll be looking for an O2 reseller.
Wi-fi calling might sort your poor signal problem - available on EE and 1pMobile (who use EE) but not Plusnet. Don't think any O2 resellers offer wi-fi calling - anyone?

Sky Mobile (uses O2) offer wifi calling but they failed to ever get it working on my phone, which is why I switched to 1P Mobile where wifi calling worked instantly.

Looking at Moneysupermarket and uSwitch it's surprising (or maybe not) that they offer better deals with many providers than going direct. Some of their deals with 3 are far better than shown on the 3 website.

All four of us are currently on Plusnet mobile so will have to switch....and I believe the MIL is too, so I'll be requried for advice there too....

Anyone know anything about Smarty? Not sure which provider to go to. Just need unlimited calls and texts and low data
    This from the MSE article

Plusnet Mobile currently piggybacks on EE's network and the firm told us it will offer users exclusive deals to switch across to EE. It wouldn't tell us the exact details of these deals, though its website says you can get 30-day EE Sims from £8 a month.

Does anyone have more detail on these exclusive deals yet? Like how much data does that £8/mth get you?

I went via the link on the Plusnet website this morning, they offered me the exact same deal (5gb, unlimited calls & texts) for £2 more than what I'm currently paying, so I decided to switch. It was a 30 day rolling contract.

From the Plusnet website. I will probably be doing the same to see what they have to offer

Check a few posts up, someone says they do

Just checked their website and found this when scrolling down on landing page:

    Wi-Fi & VoLTE calling

With Wi-Fi calling you get great indoor coverage using any Wi-Fi signal. VoLTE gives HD quality calls using 4G/5G.
