Why high electricty usage

The freezer auto defrost getting stuck sounds like the most likely problem, if your daily use is now back to normal, keep monitoring it over the next year.0

Am i the only one that knows the wattage of every item in my house?
I have an iboost buddy that tells me the net energy usage in my house (usage minus generation) plus a display that tells me what i am generating at that moment and if i cant account for that usage down to the last 20w then i will go around the house and investigate.

So this is concerning and I will investigate further.Does the meter on the wall have a decimal point? If it shows only integers then your usage could have been just a whisker above 1kWh.For example, if the 'real' start reading was 30000.99 and the end reading was 30002.01 the display will have changed from 30000 to 30002 but your actual usage will have been only 1.02kWh.In any case, 2kWh may be slightly on the high side but it's certainly not a crazy figure.Presumably other items will have had standby use included in that 2kWh figure? The Dishwasher Is Innocent !
The electricity meter only shows Kwh
As stated the dishwasher usage raised some concerns but I am not jumping to conclusions at this stage.
Once I finish with energy meter on current device and dishwasher is full I will move energy meter to dishwasher and run a load and see how much it consumes0 -
So what is your daily usage now, has it come down?0

Once I finish with energy meter on current device and dishwasher is full I will move energy meter to dishwasher and run a load and see how much it consumesMine draws peak power of around 2kW but over the cycle it uses about 0.5kWh of energy.FTFY !

I did a dishwasher load and measured energy usage. It used 1.566 Kwh
Is this normal , low or high ?0 -
