Just having a cuppa (never fear, not my first! As if) after a hard at it day so far.
3.5 hours at the allotment, removing my unintentional crop of docks, dandelions and bindweed. That particular corner looks fab. Just have to turn my back on the rest of it.Back home, made some quick lunch, DH has decided to turn out organise 2 of the many storage boxes that litter our garden to save him throwing anything out. One of these holds my flower pots, seed trays etc so then i had to spend an hour tidying that mess. The winter clothes that I folded up in the week have been swapped with the summery ones in the loft.Legs are aching now, knees are creaking.
Sorry, Round, but I think onion rings are unlikely this evening, so maybe don’t jump in your car just yet. I hear murmurings of a curry take away. A big naan all to myself mwa ha ha 🐽🐽🐽
Nice to see you pop by, Kaz. Was wondering if you were ok.
Kazmeister, maybe just put today down to r&r, it sounds like you need it.7 -

Hi all
Not a bad day, had to work this morning for a couple of hours then came home to empty and reload DW, put clean washing away, dust and hoover upstairs and weed the garden. Lovely and sunny, have washed my big winter dressing gown and sat outside for a bit.
Hospital have written to DS as they want him to start injecting himself rather than going for hospital treatment. He did say a while back that he wasnt keen on this idea, DH could do it, but thats no good if DS is away with work or on holiday somewhere. He also needs to make sure he gets regular blood tests. We have an agreement where I open letters from the hospital so I havent had a chance to talk to him about it yet.
Enjoy the curry Fayolle.7 -

I have a box of wool in the living room I am knitting my way through to clear some space.. doing fingerless mittens as christmas sales as a break from the Kusco poncho for DD2.

well, i finally managed to get to the repair cafe with my hairdryer. you can take anything and the lovely volunteers will loo at it…and there’s cake and coffee. Bonus was my friend Jo from school was on the cafe bit, and blow me if it wasnt her hubby i got allocated to. Hairdryer was working but was noisy and smelly…it need a special screwdriver to open it up, out fell a ball of hair and that turned out to be the problem. Since it failed while i was on chemo but still had hair i wasn’t surprised that hair was the issue. Anyway once mine grows and needs drying I will be able to do so. The donation i fling in the tin was far less than a new hairdryer would be. And they PAT test before and after, too, for safety.
Then i decided to finish sewing up the blue baby cardi and when i looked closely i had messed up the raglan on the front so I pulled it back and reknitted it. Band competed and on, just needs buttons and ends weaving in.
DD went out for tea so i strimmed the back garden and cut the grass, swept up and tidied. i’ve also given my orchids a soak. i’ve got 3 currently in flower, including the baby. (second flowering and it’s only been here since January), another of mum’s rejects. Words have been had with the other 3 especially the one vigorously growing leaves but not throwing up any flower stems.
First time i’ve cut the grass since i got my awful news last year, DD usually does it, but i wouldn’t let her do it this morning as i had washing out and it needed the sun on it to dry it. i wore a scarf to cover my burns, a hat to cover my head and new work gloves from mr l which fit beautifully and i thought they would make excellent gardening gloves, which they did.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Morning all
Round reading a whole book in a day sounds like a lovely use of your time.
So the sun is shining and I am up. My left eye is red, watering and puffy, no idea whats going on there. Oh and I have just put the washing out and found DHs wallet in with the wet washing. I have extracted everything from it onto kitchen towel and I think it has all survived. He doesnt know yet. I clearly didnt check his pockets carefully enough.
Today a trip to the seaside is planned with a visit to a big garden centre on the way. The sun is shining but its only supposed to be about 11 degrees on the coast, which is fine. I need to find some suncream that I can use on my face that doesnt make me go blotchy and spotty.
Coffee next. Have a good Sunday all x6 -
Morning all
Normally DH goes back to bed straight after breakfast ("I'm reading") and can't be persuaded to move again until at least 11.00, but last Saturday he managed to be ready to leave for the festival we went to with K and the girls at 9.00. This morning I can hear that he is already up and about because he wants to take some war games figures and books to the bring-and-buy stall at a show about 1½ hours' drive from here, doors open at 9.30 - and then no doubt he'll stay all day to spend whatever money he makes on the sales, and more. 'Nuff said.
Meanwhile I shall
- hang out WMx3 left over from yesterday
- file away the last few papers off the spare bed
- update 2 computer files
- go to church and inform the vicar of the arrangements for my retirement as agreed with my other "boss" on Friday - officially November, but I'm not to start anything new now
- do the food shop
- carry on with emptying the spring bulbs out of the rest of the patio pots (I only managed 2 pots yesterday)
- walk Rosie
- think of something to cook for tea.
My good news is that we have a family of bluet!ts in the nest box, and they're very vocal6 -
Morning all,
Your plans for the day sound blissful, YL. I am jealous. And of Kaz, if you are reading along, as no doubt you will be looking at the sea at some point today.
Last night’s curry and the evening in general was lovely. Sorry, Round, big fat onion bhaji all to myself has been well and truly scoffed 🐽. Tummy complained a bit about the curry in the night, but has got over itself now. Only pasta this evening, Round, so may not be worth the long trip down 🙃.Wm is on with my big dressing gown in, holding down a rug which may or may not be washable. This could be interesting. But it appears that I may have fixed the wm, fingers crossed. Just me, Mr G00gle, white vinegar and a toothbrush. No Mario in sight 🤣.
Today looks to be a repeat of yesterday, without the curry. It’s a beautiful day out there, so I need to get on before it warms up and gives me an excuse to do sweet fa.
Oooh, I ordered some material online for new trousers and it came yesterday, super quick. I haven’t opened it yet as it will distract me (I am easily distracted when I want to just look at pretty things), but am ridiculously excited.Have a lovely day, I need to kick myself up the derrière, if that is even remotely possible to do…x6
