Hello all. Thanks for the thread.
Today has been all about looking after DGD2.
Tuesday - flying, exercise class
Wednesday - paid stuff, lunch with friends
Thursday- paid stuff, trip to seaside
Friday - paid stuff, flyingSpend less now, work less later.8 -
Hello,
Thank you for the thread. If we are listing the week, then mine looks incredibly boring compared to some of your’s.
Monday - paid stuff. Aubergine / pepper quinoa concoction. Chilli and harissa hides a multitude of sins.
Tuesday - day off, woohoo! Allotmenting and flying will be in there somewhere. Mushrooms and puff pastry to turn into something for dinner.
Wednesday - paid stuff. DH out in the evening. Most possibly a slob night with a hm dahl ready meal.
Thursday - paid stuff. Fridge rummage. Maybe a stir fry? Who knows.
Friday - paid stuff. Pasta. Vino beckons.
Paid stuff was bearable today, even if the quietness is unsettling. This time last year it was manic. Should I be worried? Not sure that I have the energy to be. Towels set off in the wm this morning. DH must have hung them outside. Dinner cooked, WULTD. Tomato babies covered up as the temperature is forecast to drop to ground frost level here this evening.
Glad for work being on an even keel, for a blue skied evening, for sticking to my guns and taking my non-work day off tomorrow.8 -
Monday - work, cash and carry chicken wraps brought glass recycling home and rinsed it out because i cannot stand the smell. was wine bottles from pop up. we have a blue bin but no glass box at work
Tuesday - going to see sis with mum, dunno about tea
Weds wfh (change of plan) as builder coming to re roof what was the coal house but has been my ‘utility’ since i lived here. it’s off the kitchen, down a step. It has a flat roof. tea?
Thurs - not working again no planned meal
Fri Working. probably a takeaway
Im in bed, i have 0 sponns.
we can have fish and chips one night, as i have breaded fish in freezer.
i also want to go to emmandess for a cossy as sparks have a 15% off and i want to join the outswim cancer class
and i want to borrow some 7mm knitting needles to knit a tension square for the ridiculously expensive Debbie Bliss wool/prima patrern. if i need them i’ll but them but i’ve a feeling i’ll be knitting it on smaller needles
i emptied Dw and line dried 2 loads of washing

Morning all.
Yesterday was a wash-out for me. Not literally - it was lovely and sunny, and I hung out WMx1 - but within an hour of my last post the migraine which had been creeping up on me unnoticed (but looking back now, I can see the early signs were there) put me out of action for most of the remainder of the day. I did manage to do a little baking whilst re-heating lasagne for our tea, and I did go to the Old Wives' meeting in he evening because I was feeling slightly better and it's only a few minutes down the road, but otherwise I slept and never made it to the gym. However, there is one partially good thing to report: DH did a reasonable job of cleaning the ensuite - but I will have to remind him not to use spray bleach on the floor tiles in future!!!
Today I am somewhat better, but still feeling a bit of pressure behind one eye, so I shall be kind to myself. DS will be going out to SW this morning and to play with little trains this evening, leaving me to plod on unimpeded with what I want hope to do. The only essential jobs will be
- S&S the kitchen
- S&S the bathroom
- hoover up Rosie's fur from the LR
- straighten the bottom sheet on my bed and plump up the pillows (no need to make the bed completely - it can be well aired instead!)
- water the bedding plants
- walk Rosie
- put away tonight's shopping delivery
and then I need to sort out a bit more admin if my head can take it. We have half the chicken leftovers from Sunday for tonight's tea, which will probably end up as something quick and easy with pasta.
See you later xxx7 -

Morning all,
Beautiful sunny, chilly morning here. Bed stripped and wm twirling. Hair washed and dried (this is always a major achievement for me, so I have to list it - sorry, I am a broken record). The sunshine means that I am likely to make an unachievable list and then beat myself up about it, and I never learn. I have been trying to list just 5 things (I think this was HoneyBear’s idea a long time ago), but it seems that I can’t count particularly well.
Sock knitting finished last night. I have new wool which is going to be a summery coloured shawl. Do I need one? Probably not.
- 2nd cuppa and breakfast being demolished
- dusting downstairs (maybe) whilst waiting for the school traffic to disappear, then.….
- off to allotment for a couple of hours as I can’t think of a good reason why I shouldn’t try to MAD there. I realised the other day that I was actually dot to dotting there. So definitely flying, then.
I hope the migraine eases, Iona x
Valli, I have some spare spoons, please help yourself x
If anyone is in touch with ASB, send our love and say thank you from me. I use her trick of putting freshly boiled water into a flask all the time. It has made such a difference.
Back later x6 -
