  • I'm looking for clarification on the Hargreaves Lansdown Active Savings Account deposit. In the app the only option for adding funds is via "Easy bank transfer". This uses Ecospend to connect to the chosen bank account, but it doesn't ask for the debit card details. Does that still count as a debit card payment?

I don't have this account so I can't say for sure, but that sounds like some sort of open banking link. If you're not being asked to provide the full 16 digit card number + expiry + security number, then IMO it's not likely to be classed as a debit card payment.

Yes, correct. It's open banking. Sounds like I should look at other options then!

Debit card deposit is very clear on HL's website.

Oh nice, yeah I see it there too. Strange how the mobile app doesn't give that option.

    Hi

Sorry I'm sure this must have been mentioned before but I'm interested in the Currensea card as a possible direct debit option for switches. Does anyone use this card? I only want to use it in the UK.

    Cheers

Currensea supports GBP spending, no need to use it overseas. Link your current account to Currensea and then use your Currensea debit card to make a payment for something. A few days later the payment gets taken from your current account by DD.

You can link two current accounts to a single Currensea account, and then switch between them in the app as needed.

Cheers for that. Can't see that they offer the option of a virtual card only. Pity the welcome bonus isn't for all spending to cover the delivery charge.
