I'm looking for clarification on the Hargreaves Lansdown Active Savings Account deposit. In the app the only option for adding funds is via "Easy bank transfer". This uses Ecospend to connect to the chosen bank account, but it doesn't ask for the debit card details. Does that still count as a debit card payment?0

I don't have this account so I can't say for sure, but that sounds like some sort of open banking link. If you're not being asked to provide the full 16 digit card number + expiry + security number, then IMO it's not likely to be classed as a debit card payment.AltruisticPie1544 said:I'm looking for clarification on the Hargreaves Lansdown Active Savings Account deposit. Yes, correct. It's open banking. Sounds like I should look at other options then!PRAISETHESUN said:

Debit card deposit is very clear on HL's website.AltruisticPie1544 said:I'm looking for clarification on the Hargreaves Lansdown Active Savings Account deposit. Oh nice, yeah I see it there too. Strange how the mobile app doesn't give that option.moi said:

Hi
Sorry I'm sure this must have been mentioned before but I'm interested in the Currensea card as a possible direct debit option for switches. Does anyone use this card? I only want to use it in the UK.

CheersCurrensea supports GBP spending, no need to use it overseas. Link your current account to Currensea and then use your Currensea debit card to make a payment for something. A few days later the payment gets taken from your current account by DD.You can link two current accounts to a single Currensea account, and then switch between them in the app as needed.1 -
Cheers for that. Can't see that they offer the option of a virtual card only. Pity the welcome bonus isn't for all spending to cover the delivery charge.PRAISETHESUN said:sheffieldeagle said:Hi

Good evening,
I've some exciting news, I'm handing this thread over to @danny13579. I've taken this decision because whilst I've enjoyed creating this thread and keeping it up to date these last couple of years, I no longer follow this part of the forum as closely as I used to and would like to reduce my forum commitments slightly. The other reason is I think @danny13579 shall do a splendid job maintaining this thread.
We have agreed that @danny13579 shall launch a new version of this thread on Monday 23/2/26, I would ask you to all to support any changes made as the thread moves onto the next phase of its existence.
I'll ask the forum team to update the sticky for the Budgeting & Bank accounts board when the new thread is live to reflect this and to close this thread when the new thread is launched.
I'd like to take the opportunity to thank all those who have contributed to this thread these last few years and @danny13579 for agreeing to take over this thread.
