@Bridlington1 - update from Newbury BS
Dear Member(s),
You can now make online deposits to your accounts more quickly, with your direct debit card, when using myaccounts or our mobile app*.
How do I do this?
Log in as normal to myaccounts or the app and follow these steps:1. Select your savings account.
2. Go to Payments > Add Funds.
3. Choose Fund now by debit card.
4. Confirm the card is yours.
5. Enter the amount and click Continue.
6. Enter your card details and click Proceed to verification.
*You will need to update your myaccounts mobile app to the latest versions to enable debit card deposits into your savings accounts.

There is no minimum debit card deposit amount and you can withdraw the funds immediately. I have just deposited 1p by debit card and then immediately withdrawn it to my nominated account as a test and suffered no issues so far. There appears to be a maximum debit card deposit amount of £6,999 in online banking.
I do not have their app so limits may be different in the app, if anyone does try using the Newbury app to make debit card payments please let me know how you get on by posting in this thread.
The first page of this thread has now been updated to reflect this.5 -

For those who still have a Scottish Widows account:
I've received a letter to say my Instant Saver 2 account is getting closed on or around 10/9/25. I've just spoken to them and they've said they are going to be closing all of their savings accounts.
If you are using Scottish Widows as a source of DDs it may therefore be worth getting replacement DDs lined up for when the accounts are closed.I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -

I'll have a go tomorrow during working hours and feed back.I no longer check the forums as regularly as I used to. If you wish to catch my attention please remember to tag me (@ircE) so I get a notification.1 -
It's looking as though HEBS could potentially be a useful source of DDs. There doesn't seem to be any stated limit to the number of instant access accounts you can open with them and they allow 1 DD to be paid into each account per month with no stated minimum.
I've just opened a second instant access account with them so I shall try to set up a £2 monthly DD into each one to replace Scottish Widows DD on my RBS reward account.
It requires a paper DD mandate form to be sent in but they do still have a freepost address so I shall keep you all updated with respect to how long it takes them to set up the DD for future reference.3 -

I've just had a look at their Instant Access and Online saver and they both state 'Minimum investment is £100'. Am I looking in the wrong place to open an account with no minimum balance or does the first page need updating with this info?
Also, what is the freepost address to send the DD form to? As in the pdf link to be printed out, this is the address it says to send the form to:

My experience on the app seems to be the same as you had online Bridlington. I was able to successfully deposit 1p on the app and immediately withdrew it. Through trial and error, £6,999.00 is the maximum you can deposit without it throwing an error on you, not a penny more.I no longer check the forums as regularly as I used to.
