With the N&I DS has anyone had issues withdrawing soon after topping up via debt card?

7 calendar days in my experience. You can put your withdrawal request in after around 22:30 on day 6, and receive your money on day 7, usually early afternoon, except if day 7 falls on a non-working day.4 -

Regardless though the point stands in that debit card payments into NS&I's Direct Saver take a while to become available to withdraw so the funds can't be withdrawn too soon after depositing by debit card.1 -
Thanks both, is there any issue using different DC to top up?

Any debit card in your name will do1 -
For those who still have a Scottish Widows account:
I've received a letter to say my Instant Saver 2 account is getting closed on or around 10/9/25. I've just spoken to them and they've said they are going to be closing all of their savings accounts.
If you are using Scottish Widows as a source of DDs it may therefore be worth getting replacement DDs lined up for when the accounts are closed.7
