Awwww Fayolle of all the things to fall into your bag 🤢. You can have mine! I'm not fond of cinnamon at all. Many a good apple pie has been ruined by the addiction of cinnamon imho. As for your WM. Is the plug pushed in firmly? Have you cleaned the filter lately? Have you switched it off and on again? Is the door properly closed. 🤔
Of course it's stayed sunny here too! Now if I'd pegged out my washing we all know what would have happened. Torrential rain. Law of Sod. Never mind the clothes are getting sun and air so will be drying to some degree. And I can whip the airer in before I set off to see H.
All pots have been WUDUPA. Cooker top has been wiped down, and dish cloth is soaking in bleach.
A couple of things have been decluttered from LR floor. Every little helps.

Ah well, sorry, Round. Luckily DH was around to pick up the second cinnamon bun…
Bedroom dusted and vacuumed cleaned. Even under the bed where the dust bunnies hide. Ensuite cleaned, and bathroom given a s&s.Dinner is easy left overs. After our entertaining at the weekend, it’s like one long boxing day here on the food front.
This afternoon has HHI on the list, then gardening or admin, depending on the weather.
I quite like this not working lark. Reminds me of when I was a true flylady. Shame about the pay, though.
ETA - just rushed the towels in off the line as it’s raining. Admin it is then later.8 -
I decluttered some admin this morning whilst waiting for our usual vets to return my call. Eventually I gave up and rang them again, to be offered a 4.00 appointment for Rosie at their main vet hospital in Millennium City, which is a good 45-minute drive from here. Having accepted, I thought about it for about half a minute and decided to take her instead to our local independent vet centre - it's a new practice that opened shortly before Covid. They have built up a good reputation in this area, and I'd been thinking of changing over for some time. Here they offered me a 2.00 appointment with one of the partners, so I cancelled the other place. This meant we only had a 3-minute drive each way, saving lots of both petrol and time. The consultation fee was lower too, so win-win-win [insert MSE emoji], and the vet was super with both Rosie and me - apparently I had done an excellent job of keeping her hydrated
Rosie was given a thorough examination, two jabs to counteract nausea, a week's worth of antibiotics, and advice on a light diet of fish and rice which she will love. Apparently she has colitis
If she's not better by Thursday, the vet wants to see her again. Hopefully that won't be necessary!
While we were out, I also posted two cards, picked up DH's new prescription and took the soft plastics to be recycled via the corner shop.
Unfortunately, with all the waiting around for the returned phonecall which never came, I was unable to attend the funeral of one of the Old Wives. Sad about that - I'd known her for many years - but I was able to have a quiet time on my own to think back on happier days and give thanks for who she was and what she did.

Evenings peeps, hope you’re all ok.Got back from hollibobs late yesterday afternoon and promptly slept as had an early start and hardly slept the night before. I did however decide that in true flylady style I should empty my case, sort out the washing and put the stuff away! Usually it’s in the case in the bedroom for weeks.
Love the list this week Valli so thank you. I am just getting dinner now then will see what I can do and cross off as was back at the day job courtesy of a lift there with DH and a lift home with DD that saved me getting drenched in the rain and thunderstorm.I then need to concentrate on making DGS Octonaut cake topper for Saturday otherwise I will be in trouble with DDIL.Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!7 -
glad the list suits Kazm, it is recycled from an earlier thread, with a tweak or two, but i thought that, as this is one of 3 four day weeks this month you’d all be better off choosing what to do when. Plus is saves me wrenching myself away from the TV to put a list up.
I have pegged out washing, ironed previous lot, made tea, WUALTD so kitchen is tidy, cleaned out the bag i’m using, which is more of a tote but i’ll need a big bag as i have a covid booster on Friday but have to prove i need it, so the cancer file is coming with me. The new medication i’m to have can cause immune issues so there shouldn’t be an issue. i’ve ordered my repeat prescription, too.
Ive also input some receipt stuff and shredded and flung. And put the toolbox away…and the ironing board. second cardi front knitted, i have started a sleeve. i’ve brought my knitting upstairs then i can do it during my vertical half hour.
Went to Mr Ms, was going to buy some proper Greek yoghurt until i looked at the price. I’ve noticed a few price increases but it’s really shocked me, the ones I’ve seen recently. I used to pay £6.99 for a twin pack of laundry detergent (from discount store) but £10.99? - that’s a massive increase - over 50%! Thank you Honey Bear8 -
Morning all.
Back to paid stuff today so naturally I didn't sleep as well. After paid stuff I'm taking the toddlers out so don't think I'll fit much flying in.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.9 -
Squeaks bus didn't turn up so we had to take her to school then the small 2 and Dot is being picked up later to do her SATS 1-2-1. She did really well yesterday, cracked on and got them done without any fussing or carrying on, she was utterly insane when she got home and didn't sleep so we are walking her like a dog later to see if it helps. DD1 is braving the school run tonight
I have laundry to get done, DW to sort, 1 vinted parcel to fling and a bag full to list so I am going to try to at least get a few bits done today.. it may be an ongoing process as usual. Cats need flea-ing and worming too..
the burn on my hand is mending, the blister has gone down and the less burned bits are starting to flake.. which is very annoying.. I have removed the bandage and will just keep moisturising it .. if it gets crispy I will pick the whole lot off because I'm like that.. I have left it alone for a week but had to have it covered the whole time. I can let it mend.
I want to get out the painting gear for the front of the house.. I need it to be respectable.. it looks like the house is made of driftwood currently! I have lived here since 2005 and never once painted the front door..
I want to get a price for putting a porch door type thing in.. I have checked it before and it was about £1500.. I need this doing.. but I also need the gutter replacing asap.. I need to find a person..
Healing hugs for Rosie and happiness, calm and sunshine to everyone else..
first job.. cuppa and bill paying!!

I was in the WAC around 3 am and then slept in til 8.30, so I now have that slept in groggy feeling.
I'm up, dressed, made my bed, supped a brew, eaten breakfast, listened to a morning meditation, fed the birds, put out the rubbish and recycling: including a file of Majesty magazines that I unearthed in my quest to clear the LR floor. 1985 vintage. Magazines recycled, file binned. Fer-ling

A bit late to join you, round, but I've just made myself a coffee (and one for DH).
Thanks for GWS wishes for Rosie. Yesterday evening she was still groggy (and presumably hungry) enough not to notice the crushed antibiotic tablet mixed in with her food, but this morning she is much brighter and was pickier about which bits she would eat! She left some of the rice which smelt a bit funny, however I tricked her into eating it half an hour later by mixing it with some softly scrambled egg, which she wolfed down
Other achievements so far today:
- replied to some emails
- sorted some more papers
- cleared the kitchen table and worktops
- showered and dressed before the gardener arrived
- went out in the warm sunshine to tie up some straggly clematis and check last year's fuchsia plants: two had succumbed, but the other two have sprouted, and in one of the pots I found two baby hellebores, which I have potted on
- paid the gardener and checked that I am thankfully still solvent.
Off shortly to Action Heart, then I'll do a food shop on the way home. DH can act as nurse while I'm out, and cook his own bacon sandwiches. He has a meeting in Cathedral City at 7.00pm, so it will have to be an early tea tonight. See you all later xxx7 -
iona - glad to hear the Rosie is picking up. Yesterday I visited H who was looking after her son's dog who is also currently of a diet of rice, chicken and scrambled egg. He went to the vet at 4.30 and was given an injection and pills and told to stay on the soft diet. In fact I must message H to ask how he is today.
I thought I'd lost my big fuchsia in the front garden 🙁. But it has suddenly shown signs of life 😊. I'm so relieved that I didn't give up on it. Several times I thought of cutting it back but held off.
I put the jackets in to wash as the sun was shining. It's now tipping down with rain. Typical.
I'm going to read a couple of chapters of my book then l WUDUPA.
Sounds like a plan 😊
