It must be related to BT and them merging services with EE. They're trying to get customers off the BT Mobile plans to EE instead. I think the offer I originally got was 3GB for £7.50 a month that I ignored and is no longer available, and I see there's now an offer for 10GB for £9, a 24 month deal which is ok. As I'm only on the 1GB plan that was originally £5 (now £6 something) I'm more tempted to try 1pmobile instead though.0

Nowmobile could be worth a look?0

I would guess that it is all about rebranding, simplifying their advertising and marketing, and probably cutting call centre costs. It may be interesting to see whether, like vodafone, they offer tiered services or just concentrate on top end tariffs.mac.d said:It must be related to BT and them merging services with EE. The plan longer term seems to be that EE will focus on the premium consumer market (for both broadband and mobile) with BT focusing on the enterprise market. Plusnet appears to be the budget brand that doesn't fit, which is why it is being rundown.savergrant said:

Yes, last year BT announced that EE will be the consumer facing brand (landline, mobile, broadband etc) https://amp.theguardian.com/business/2022/apr/27/bt-unveil-plans-to-make-ee-its-consumer-facing-brandsavergrant said:

It’s happening elsewhere as well, channel 4 announced plans to do much the same thing. https://www.prolificnorth.co.uk/news/broadcasting-news/2022/11/channel-4-announces-major-brand-transformation-2023?ampAs you say, it makes sense to avoid competing against themselves, avoid confusion and cut costs.0 -
I've been trying to find out what's going on for a few months. The only email I've had from them this year was about the yearly price increase. This has been handled so poorly, it seems from what I've read elsewhere the plusnet staff themselves don't even know the timeline for everything.

From the PN forum replies to a thread re the shutdown, the staffer who joined the thread ,sounded like he knew what was planned but had been warned off from telling the public!MissLFC said:I've been trying to find out what's going on for a few months. I suspect strongly that the parent company (BT) are trying to drive everyone to EE by giving as little notice as possible!1 -
I’ve been trying to switch over to EE using the link that plusnet provides for the “exclusive “deals on sim only and surprise surprise, it doesn’t work!
And now Plusnet are now not answering their phones for enquiries!0 -
Can't see why they can't just send you an EE simcard and transfer you to EE honoring your existing Plusnet contract2
