Found my dream house - under flight path

It has been a long time.. we finally find our dream house! Just about to be affordable maxing out our money / investments, offer agreed just starting the process, however through not related research, find the property is under Heathrow flight path 30% of the time depending on the wind direction. Especially during summer time more likely to see flights flying above.

Went back a few times and tried to listen to the flight noise, it passes above in the Sky. It is loud however it’s sth you will need to get used to it. Asked a few friends who live there they r used to it, not really a bother.

Don’t know how I shall feel about it,
it’s our last upsizing and forever home given our age, next time is to downsize.

It has been a really difficult decision to make and have been losing sleep over this in the last week or two. We r torn and not sure what to do, don’t want to compromise however everything else works.

understand it is very subjective thing to decide on., asking for advice what you would do if were u?

That’s a tricky question because everyone is different.  I am very fond of planes so it wouldn’t bother me.  Years ago I lived under the flight path of Concorde, we used to go out and look at it, such a lovely sight.  Where I live now there are helicopters flying over quite a lot, they don’t bother me.
I wish I could be like that..

as we r not proceeding, agents start viewing again… feel Sad to say good bye.

Our offer was accepted 2 weeks ago,
last week we found out about the flight path and have hesitation.

As we are not proceeding with paper work and asked for a viewing on this Friday, agents start booking new viewings again.

oh so the agents are just assuming you are going to drop out, perhaps you aren't the first or it is a ploy to goad you to get going

A lot depends on how close and how noisy these planes are.  Where I live there are planes going overhead all day, however they are a long way up and the noise is minimal.  We are not under a flight path but can hear planes if you look up and listen.  I am sure a lot of places do see planes flying above but not so much that it is disturbing.  However, on a visit to Knutsford recently, I was shocked at how close and low the planes are (taking off from Manchester).  They literally skim just over buildings and it is quite a shock the first time it happens to you.  Knutsford is quite desirable and well-to-do, but I don't think I would be happy with that situation.

Can you park nearby to ascertain how low, how noisy and how often this happens?

What @Tiglet2 says.  Planes fly over my place (not at set intervals so probably also depending on the direction of the wind) but they are high up so the noise is minimal. A leaf blower is way worse.   It doesn’t bother me at all.  A friend who lives on a busy road came to stay a while ago and remarked on how very quiet it was.

I second the idea of sitting in a car to listen.  The deal breaker for me would be whether it would be too noisy to sit and enjoy the garden.

Thanks everyone for your kind replies.

We went there and sit in the garden for a while.. most of them r ok, not too low 3000ft.. occasionally jumbo jets r loud enough to stop conversation and wait for it to pass, quick though couple of seconds.. just every 10 min there is plan over, it can be exhausting if you r out in the garden. We live 1 mile away can hear it when wind is easterly, it is just about to notice it.

hard one…really love the house and garden. So much money and last big house ..

I was just thinking about Knutsford, because I grew up there. Yes, you could hear the planes regularly, but it was just part of everyday life. I do remember the planes being loud enough to pause a phone conversation. On the other hand, my dad was a plane enthusiast and in the summer he would tell us where they were going which was quite exciting.
