I reckon these NST threads are the most positive and motivating on MSE - please may I join?Mindfulness and meditation - I learned a new technique for stress release (TRE) on a retreat last weekend so want to practice that at least three times a week.Student loan £5655

Turtles
I’m sorry I’ve neglected you, the last few days have been bit of a blur. My friend came to stay and we slid straight back into the old ways, as one does. It was a lot of fun but my body and my bank balance are not thanking me now. Went about €100 over budget. At least I know where every cent went. I need a lot of NSDs this week as right now I’m nowhere near on track for the 10!
I hope you are all doing well. It is a bank holiday in Madrid today (San Isidro) so I am taking it easy this morning, had a lie in, did some meditation and will get up and go for a walk after I’ve had my coffee. Bf and I got a naughty takeaway pizza last night so will probably have the rest of that for breakfast! I’d better look after myself for the rest of the week!
Grateful for having a lovely time with my friend, for naughty food (and for looking forward to getting back on that wagon)

Gave my lovely octogenarian fellow volunteers a lift in to the volunteering session this morning, then dropped them off in the town so they can wreak havoc and mayhem. 80 yr old school boys!
Fretting a bit about some medical stuff going on this week. On the plus side it might all be over by Wednesday lunchtime. Fingers crossed anyway.
Budget set for the week. Menu plan sorted for the week, will need bread and onions and that's about it.

I misread your last line as 'will be bread and onions and that's about it' and thought gosh, how frugal, but also, I now really fancy a fried onion sandwich! Hope all goes ok on medical front.10

Just when I thought yesterday couldn't get any worse! Late at night I heard and almighty crash from the bathroom. I ran in to find Himself on the floor, unable to get up, blood everywhere. Not as bad as it first appeared. He says he tripped and even a small bang to his arm makes the place looks like the aftermath of the St Valentine's Day massacre. He won't go to the doctor to find the cause, of course. Anyway, toilet seat broken, bathroom scales broken, toiletries all over the floor, etc, etc. I got him up and into bed. Then the emotion of the last five months bubbled to the surface and I spent most of the night in tears. He's ok this morning and I've given myself a good talking to and I'm getting on with it.
Achievements (or something like that).- Ordered replacements for the broken bathroom items
- Walked to the shops
- Got quite a good few YS items
- Changed the bedding (drying outside)
- Cleaned the bathroom
- Decluttered some things to recycle bin
- Half way through my book
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.10 -
@Toni'sfriend I hope your OH is okay! Must've been a real fright!
I thought I posted yesterday, I typed it out but clearly didn't press "post"! Got some washing done and line dried, went horse riding and I can't remember what else! OH strong armed me into buying a cheapy lunch out as we didn't fancy anything that we had in the house so it wasn't a NSD.
Today also wasn't a NSD. Had a routine ear appointment that I'd budgeted for. Also had to buy a lightbulb and paid for parking as I drove to a nice local spot and took my bike for a ride. Had loads of fun riding around, didn't have a clue where I was going and nearly fell off once but I had a big grin on my face! Bit muddy by the time I got back so shoved my clothes and trainers in the wash.
OH and I are getting takeaway tonight as its almost my birthday and needs must!7 -
@Toni'sfriend ooff! Just what you didn't need in the middle of the night, but you might feel a bit calmer after a good cry. Think of it as liquid stress leaving your body. You don't need it any more. Hugs. Hope 'Himself' is feeling better as well.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Thanks for the welcome 😊
Had a mostly positive day today, helped by all the sunshine! ☀️
Got home on time and managed 25 minutes in the garden pulling bindweed and thinning some of the big daisy things around my garlic bed - they are pretty but they are a bit gallumphing and want to take over the world if not ‘managed’! 😉 Also had a cuppa and couple of my ginger and pine nut cookies by the pond with Mr KK as we chewed over our respective days.
Not an NSD today as I paid for a CD and shipping for a CD album from Japan by my ex teacher who is an American Buddhist rap and street artist …. (Very long story! 😉)My TRE course book arrived today. As the teacher promised it is very readable and when I got to the bit about the 9/11 firefighters the author had helped with PTSD it made me a bit sad for a dear friend who died a few years ago. He was as mad as a box of frogs - his best escapade when I was sharing an office with him, was he managed to set fire to some croissants in the toaster which led to the whole site being evacuated! 😂 Bearing in mind this guy was a retained firefighter for 20+ years and it was pretty funny 😉 It was the fire fighter reference that triggered my memories of him as he also suffered from PTSD due to his experiences in that role, and although he didn’t talk about it much he did share that it made him scared to sleep because of his dreams. If I had known about TRE then, it would have helped him in a way I couldn’t at the time ….
Gratitude for beautiful spring skies and multiple shades of green, for Mr KK dealing with the live mouse that the cat brought us in tonight (again!), for TRE, for my garden ❤️
