Just looked.  You have to pay 99p for the SIM card, and then more than 1p per call / tex message / data useage.
Thank you for reading this message.

How long have you been with 1p? When I was with them they started rounding up to charge £2.50pm even if nor used at all. So maybe some of your credit has been eaten away at some point
It might be worth checking your usage through the online account.
Switching between lyca and lebara would likely be most cost effective but may not be ideal if you rely on the number for banking etc.
I can't remember exactly, probably about 2 years.   As Neil said above, you have to top up by £10 every 120 days, but any credit from the previous top-up is rolled over.   You don't lose any credit, but it is annoying to have to top up even when you have credit.

T&c's are different depending on when you joined 1pmobile (and aren't necessarily what they were when you signed up).
    If you fall into this category you will 'lose' £2,50 pm;

Terms & Conditions for customers who joined between 01 March 2016 to 31 December 2020 can be found here

    TOP-UP REQUIREMENT
      1. Our 1pMobile service is subject to a minimum spend of £2.50 every 30 days. If your actual spend during any 30-day billing period falls below £2.50, we will deduct the shortfall from the credit balance on your account;"

So did you join before or after 31st Dec 2020?

If you have been with 1pmobile for 24 months you must have topped up £60 each over that time. IF your usage is light you would have saved £20 each by being on o2, as you only need to topup £10 every SIX months rather than 4. and that would give you 333 mins or 500 texts to use each six months. It is true that 1pmobile allows a potential 1000 mins or 1000 texts every 4 months but it costs 50% more and 1pmobile are really strict on disconnecting people whereas most networks will apply a restriction which you can call to remove.
As I said before it all depends on your usage.

I obviously joined after 31 December 2020, as I remember them saying they were going to change the topping-up period.

Where you say 333 mins - I presume that is data useage, and 1000 texts.  What about phone calls?

I know 1pmobile send you a message when  your balance is getting low, so if I thought I was going to use my credit before top-up time, I would obviously top-up again, so I don't think disconnection comes into it.

There is also 99p for the SIM card.  Presumably once you have the card, it is yours for 'life'.
Thank you for reading this message.

333 minutes of phone calls (3p/min) or 500MB data (2p/MB) or 1000 texts (1p ea) or a combination thereof for £10.

    £10 min top-up every 180 days.

No wi-fi calling (if that's something you use/need).

Not sure what you mean by that, AFAIK they have had the £10 for 120 days since before I joined in 2019.
    How has it changed?

Where 1pmobile scores is that it is cheap rates and you can build up credit to cover uneven usage patterns. Unfortunately many light users built up balances of around £100 or more and never used it, when there ARE cheaper options for THEIR level of usage. Without seeing your account activity I don't know whether another deal would be cheaper for you, and nor does anyone else on here imo.

If you had been with 1pMobile for 24 months and spent nothing, it is unlikely that you would have £60 credit left, because you would not have needed to add more money to the ever increasing amount  in order to to top-up  as they allow you to use £10 of your existing credit to cover the next 120 day period so your credit on the account would decrease by £10 rather than you having to add another £10, which would give you ever increasing credit. I suppose they give this option to stop very low users building up huge amounts of credit, so in this scenario it would still work out cheaper than £10 every six months with o2

Can you find where that is in their t&c's because I don't think they do, and haven't done since 2020?

Terms and conditions for those who joined after 31st Dec 2020. I understand the term top-up to mean that you add money to your account

    https://www.1pmobile.com/terms-and-conditions.taf

    TOP-UP REQUIREMENT
      1. In order to remain a customer, you must top-up your 1pMobile phone/account with at least £10 once every 120 days (4 months) with effect from the Commencement Date.
      2. If you fail to top-up by the next top-up due date (which is shown in your account area),
        1. we will close your 1pMobile account,
        2. your mobile number will be disconnected,
        3. and any unused credit will be lost.
        4. If you have ported a mobile number to us then the number will be returned to the issuing network provider and may not be retrievable.
      3. The current minimum topup is £10.

AFAIK 1pmobile removed the option to sacrifice in lieu of a £10 top-up when they changed to the £2.50 roundup charge in 2020, and HAVE NOT  reintroduced it (it isn't in their current t&c's either for older or newer customers.)
if it were an option you would basically need to top-up in January say, then again in May, sacrifice your May top-up in September, then top-up again in January. That would allow you to keep your sim active by giving them £10 for nothing every eight months while running down your original credit. Bargain!
If your original £10 top-up will last you that long switch to rwg' s payg, 5p pm will buy you 200 mins but last indefinitely without further topup.
    If you are spending £2,50 pm on 1pmobile then look at this deal;
