Your heating costs will probably increase at least 200% on single rate tariff. Why are you not happy with the output of the existing NSH's? Have you adjusted the input and output controls?

    That's a tad pessimistic.

Take edf this Q - all but one e7 off peak rate is in the c15-17p range - cf epg 33.2p average iirc.

So double possibly - an increase of 100% not 200% - but that's assuming all heat is off peak.

Many on e7 with lossy old style nsh to avoid the 2am heat spike  problem, end up using supplementary heating at more expensive than SR electric - peak rates in evenings etc.  In EDFs case c42-50p.  So their is potential clawback to offset sr vs off peak loss.

What heat spike problem are you referring to? The OP said they were cold at 2am. My heaters are still cool at 2am GMT as they have only been on 1hr and 20 mins at that point

No problem, it's easily done, you see what you expect to see.  That's why it's often difficult to spot mistakes when !!!!!!-reading what you've just written !
Edit:  Grrr... the auto-censor broke the joke (I deliberately omitted the 'r' in 'proof').

That makes absolutely no sense they want to put in almost the most expensive form of heating then!  (Only outdone by electric boilers, as far as I understand.)

Sadly councils and housing associations don't always make the correct decisions and are likely to be cash strapped.

But at least your likely to be secure.

Proper HHRs would cost thousands more per flat for 1-2 large and 2-3 small for halls or bedrooms etc.

It adds up when doing dozens or 100s in neighbouring blocks etc.

You may find more in area are also unhappy if a widespread change.

And if you are going to be financially disadvantaged - it may be worth talking to local Councillor or MP to see if they can intervene.
