over 30 mins on the phone trying to sort this out, got my rewards but no offer of goodwill.
Was your debit card spend to a savings account?

Savings accounts should be fine IMO - I paid £750 to Leeds BS by debit card this month, and my app tells me that I am on track for this month.

Does it works by calendar month? So if I do another payment on 1st may, that’d work for the may requirement? (FP etc. too to do)

Edit - I’ve just checked and it is calendar month. I was just curious as I opened it mid month, and apparently NatWest and RBS reward accounts operate by account month rather than calendar month (according to the agent I spoke to)
That's not how its been in my experience. Both my Natwest and RBS accounts have gone by calendar month for the last year or so.
Did you upgrade at the start of the month? Tbh, I wouldn’t put it past NatWest and RBS to have given me the wrong information again…
One was around two weeks into the month, the other was in the final week of the month.

My recommendation would be to link plum to one of them, set the 2 plum DDs to be taken around 27th and upgrade the account around 24th (if you haven't already). This way you'll get the full £5 in rewards for April whilst only paying a weeks worth of fees for the first month (roughly 50p vs the usual £2 monthly fee).
    That's a really good idea!

My Revolve and Adapt accounts cannot manage direct debits, so I upgraded the revolve to a select, and I will upgrade the adapt to a select shortly.

I have set direct debits to come from the RBS select every other Tuesday, beginning in may, so I will set plum on NatWest.

Do you get the plum direct debit paid into an 'interest pocket' or into their investment service please? I would just be looking to hold it as cash, and get it withdrawn almost right away.

Also do you have to let plum view everything by open banking?

And then how many different accounts can you get to take direct debits to the same plum account please? It just seems odd that they allow 2 direct debits on the same day, so I'm wondering if this another feature too - I could then upgrade both NatWest and RBS on the same day and possibly link both - that way I'd get the reward for RBS too for this month
Plum goes into the savings pocket. Just log into the app, click "pocket" followed by "deposit", then deposit by DD, repeat immediately after and voila you'll have 2 DDs that will go out the same day. It takes about a week or so for the DD to be collected but if I recall correctly my first plum DD took slightly longer so I'd be tempted to do a couple of DDs every other day for the next week to make sure as if you upgrade the account on say 24th April, it'll be 25th/26th by the time they've upgraded it so you'll only have a 3-4 day window for the DDs to go out. You can set it to do weekly deposits but I just find it simpler to do 2 manual DDs of £2 in one go.

    Yes everything gets seen.

You can link multiple accounts to plum but can only take DD deposits from one account.

I would still upgrade RBS this month. You'll get £1 for logging into the app in April so as long as you have 2 DD going out of RBS next month, which you have, you'll be up as you'll only pay around 50p in fees for April if you upgrade in the final week of the month.
Thanks for explaining the process to me.

I've just had another response to the message I sent them before. They said 'When you upgrade your account you would pay the full £2 for the new account and this would run for your full charging period until the next payment is due. This may not be at the start of each calender month but from midway through the month depending on the date you upgrade. Rest assured you wouldn't be paying extra or less when you upgrade for the first month. With regards to the direct debit this would need to be 2x direct debits not the same one for you to receive the full cashback incentive.'

From the sounds of things, both parts of their reply are wrong?
I can 100% confirm the same mandate paid twice (or more) works fine, you get a £2 reward for each of the first 2 direct debits (of at least £2) each month.

I agree with @WillPS. I've been paying out 2 Plum DDs from Natwest and 2 Scottish Widows DDs from RBS for months and have previously paid out 2 Wealthify DDs from one of them and have received the rewards each time.

The terms state you need to pay out "2 DDs" not "2 DDs from different providers" as is the case with Co-op, Barclays and every other reward account I've come across. It's a common misconception to assume the DDs need to be from different providers though so their response doesn't surprise me.

My Barclays is working just fine with 2 DDs from the same provider, taken on the same day. I am not bothering with COOP DDs these days but did for a long time with 4 DDs from the same provider. I am very fortunate to still have an ancient NLA savings account which allows any number of DDs, so all my ’fake’ DD requirements have always been met by a single provider. You‘ll be limited only by the number of DDs you can set up with a provider. I also recall that some people only had 1 weekly DD to meet the COOP requirement for 4 DDs, though I never tried weekly ones myself.

I'm still getting the £1.25/mth from Co-op for paying out 4 DDs (I don't pay tax on savings so can claim 25p back each month from HMRC). At the end of the day I am keeping my Co-op account because the person who referred me to them twice has switched their account to Natwest the other day so I shall refer them back if they launch another refer-a-friend offer so may as well get the £1.25/mth and it stops the account going dormant.

Reward payment missing for me too. Phoned up and was told they'd had a lot of calls about this. They couldn't see any reason I shouldn't have received it. Their advice was, 'as it seems a systemwide issue to give it another couple of days', after which they reckon it would be credited.
    Not overly convinced myself though.

Noticed the same problem today, no reward despite meeting all the conditions.  Called them and they added the reward plus £5 for my time.

One thing I did learn was how to track the award conditions through my account.

When you're in the account look at the large blue box menu on the left side, expand the option "My Current Account Options" and you will see an option to "Track your reward extras".

I'm going to check this each month when I know I've met all conditions, screen shot it saying so and if needed send it to Halifax if the reward payment gets missed again.  I hope that way I'll not have to spend an hour on the phone whilst they check the system.

I wouldn't rely on the infamous 'tracker!  As reported in another thread here recently it's always out of date by days, sometimes longer, and sometimes doesn't update at all.

Your own records are far more reliable! The terms aren't complicated, so you (surely) should know whether or not you've matched them each month.

I tried contacting them by the chat feature in the app but it told me to ring customer services. I know that I should definitely do that but I probably won’t. I’ve got lots going on at the moment and spending 10 minutes on the phone for a fiver isn’t a priority for me at this time.
    I hate verisimilitude.

Halifax doesn't have a CS chat.  All the option in App does is let you call via VOIP, you still have to deal with a voice call.  They are rather behind the times in this aspect not allowing either chat or secure messages.
