Hugs @ruby_eskimo! So sorry that you have all these problems with getting your mum out and about when it's necessary. Do hope you can sort out everything without too much hassle.
Well done on the loss - it's not easy when there is so much you can't control going on around you. Hope you manage to get a jacket potato at the hospital canteen. Our local hospital always seems to run out of them very quickly - don't know why they don't make more!

Oh @ruby_eskimo that all sounds so tough for you. Can you take today as privilege day, or take some compassionate leave just until things settle down? Sending love and strength to you xxx
I spoke to a clinical psychologist at work and he suggested calling the Eating Disorders clinic so that's what I've done. I explained my concerns and the lovely receptionist is going to email SIL's therapist. I had to leave my name though, so I can see this going nuclear. Worth it if it makes a difference though.Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings1 -
Do be kind to yourself @ruby_eskimo, there's so much for you to deal with at the moment. Well done on your 1.5lbs loss though, good to see something positive to give you a boost. 👍🏼
I think you've done the right thing @Coxy11, although you probably won't get any thanks for it in the short term at least. It's crazy trying to go it alone. Your SIL obviously needs MH support but also specialist nutrition advice . Let's hope your referral brings help ASAP.
Thanks for the explanation @joedenise. It's not that I'm thinking of lowering my own target but just wondered if going below would count for anyone considering it.
I've put out a line of washing too. The weather is glorious and the plus side is I can do a 20 minute wash with the lower spin speed and it still dries in no time! 😁
As I didn't have a proper lunch yesterday, I still have plenty of LOs from Sunday's dinner so very mse eating. I wouldn't normally have pasta two days running but not much time to cook this evening becasue of dance class so needs must.
Today's EE plan-
B- HEB porridge, HEA1 milk, berries (S), banana (F)
L- ham (P), fried veg and pickles (S), 1 potato (F)

Sorry to hear the poorly relatives are still struggling.I've no idea how my parents managed day trips to Alton towers when we were small, I'm exhausted! But we had a good time.
Food has been better than expected, other than a few too many sweets last night.
Light eating today as we left early planning to eat on the way home, but trying to find somewhere serving all day isn't easy so we just came straight home. But having driven and walked loads I'm not that hungry.

So sorry to hear your dad has another infection @bubbs. Sounds as though he's lost quite a bit of weight - how much does he usually weigh? Assume they've now got him on antibiotics which hopefully will kick in soon and at least ease his pain.
You did the right thing @Coxy11. Your SIL definitely needs help, her DH is probably doing more harm than good - I suspect he thinks he's doing the right thing for her but the best place for her is probably hospital.1 -
Well done @beanielou on your loss.
@bubbs, @Coxy11 and @joedenise sorry that you and your families are going through such tough time, it must feel unrelenting for you all.
First WI since holiday today, gain of 2lb, I'll take that happily, but hope it does not take too long to shed. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -

maman said:Just out of curiosity @beanielou, how does it work? If, for example, your target weight was 9st 7lbs and you went down to 9st 3, could you aim for a target of 9 st or would it have to be 8st 10 lbs? If that makes sense! 🤣
