    You can set buyer requirements

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling/listings/creating-managing-listings/setting-buyer-requirements?id=4152

I have mine set to block buyers who have 2 unpaid item strikes within 12 months - the minimum and maximum respectively.

Also block the buyer personally too.
Thanks, I've just set the unpaid item block and will block the buyer as well when I cancel.

If the buyer still hasn't paid after you've sent the invoice, and it's been more than 4 calendar days since the listing ended, cancel the order by selecting the Cancel order button below and choosing Buyer hasn't paid in the drop down menu.

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling/getting-paid/resolving-unpaid-items-buyers?id=4137
Unfortunately that doesn't work. I only get three options, none of them are for buyer not paid 😕
Are you past the 4 days required before you can cancel for non Payment? If you cancel before the 4 days are up you potentially get a strike for a non performing seller and you lose your FVFs, if you wait until 4 days have elapsed and then cancel on basis that buyer hasn't paid you get your FVFs back and buyer gets the strike. Buyer also can't leave feedback if you cancel due to non payment.

Bear in mind the buyer hasn't paid option only appears after 4 full days have lapsed - before then the option simply wont be there.
I have mine set to automatically cancel sales from non-payers after 4 days. I then manually block the user and relist on the next FVF discount offer.
It is frustrating, although saying that I had such an incident a few days ago. Messaged the buyer after 2 days and he apologised, stating he hadn't realised the offer had been accepted, and paid straight away....

I think I'm on the cusp of 4 full days so the option may be about to pop up. I'm pretty sure I won't her a word from the buyer so will follow your advice as I don't want to get the strike.

It has to be 4 days and not before. So for instance if it sold at 8pm Friday the sale can be cancelled with a strike to the buyer at 8.01 pm on Tuesday.

Ok thank you. So what does the strike actually do for the buyer?

It means once they get two strikes within 12 months they can't bid on items from sellers who've used the setting to block non-payers (or X strikes in Y time if people want to use slightly different settings, but 2 strikes is the minimum and 12 months the maximum time as mentioned above).  It means if it's a one-off then essentially it doesn't affect them, but if they become a serial non-payer then they lose the opportunity to buy from a lot of sellers.

I'm hoping it still works well, I used to get buyers contacting me asking they couldn't bid and giving sob stories about how they didn't mean to not pay for other people's items. I don't get so many now, but then again I'm not selling anywhere near as much on ebay as I used to.

Strike does very little to the buyer unless sellers set their buyer preferences.  They may have several strikes but
if sellers settings do not block them then they will continue to bid and not pay.

High percentage of sellers have no clue they can set buyers restrictions.
