moanymoany - this guilt thing seems to be very common in women from what I can gather. Almost as if we're born with it and it's a dickens of a job to get shot of, I know that myself and am still trying.
muppet - I was just thinking of that motto when I read your post. One of our foster girls gave me a magnet which sits on my metal filing cabinet saying just that. And how true it is. Friends accept you as you are, warts and all, expect nothing, no need to impress them............some families can be like that too but sadly,it seems, not enough. We can't be expected to like or love people just because we're related to them can we,
ceridwen - I don't have another e mail address to use........oh eck..........lens just fell out of my specs..............:eek:Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

One eye aint a lot of good..................
I'll try and get the optician to sort it out on MondayMary

Hi mary
Sorted it at last - I think.
More of our Hester's "good offices" later - shes told me how to change the settings on my blog to enable "anonymous" comments. I've just checked it out and it seems to be working okay.
So - I noted Ellidee's comment she left about my virtual friends here having a "home from home" in effect when M.S.E. "goes down" (as it does at intervals). So - if it does go down I'll "get the kettle brewing" and welcome mat put out.
Just as well - the struggle to get into M.S.E. worsens each time I try at the moment - nearly didnt make it this time - but I'm definitely on a promise from a friend that he will come round and have a look at it. So - hopefully - this show will be back on the road soon.
Whew!
Now - look after yourself all. Thinking of you Moany - take care.0 -
Lovely to see all you people in here. Sorry that you're having a hard time moanymoany. It sounds that you are working your way through it - my thoughts are with you.
Ceridwen - I'm going to have a whizz over to your blog. Thanks for starting it. I love reading blogs!
Charis - i think you are me!!!! but I'm not Pagan (although friendly with girl at work who is and I actually have fairy coins and am asking for a request from them this week). Great to reach a point where you see that you canh't actually control other p[eople's behaviour and to finally discover that you are worrying sick over things they do or might do - things that don't give them worry at all. I am learning that everyone walks a different path in life and that we can send blessings and good wishes, 'prayers' etc to people but with the clear understanding that we send these wishes while acknowledging their journey on a diff path, hence we are not trying to change them. This is the way to free yourself from worry about things over which you have no control (everything, virtually). Now, I'm not saying that I have solved all worry problems but I am much freer, see how green the grass is, finally know what I am prepared to accept and what I'll walk away from.
Having been back at work was an eye opener as well. I enjoyed being back although I felt tired out with it - that will ease. But I am very clear that I want my classes back now thank you, and don't want to shadow people who are organising my students. This might well work with some people but I have acknowledged that I am happy to go back into my old routine and that although people who are covering would get extra money, for *me* it's about getting back into my actual job instead of tiptoeing about. This is just me though and I know that other things work for other people. The old me would have felt obliged, thinking oh these people maybe need the money, the *new* me hehehe says, actually I am fine to do my job, but thanks for the offer.
ok - off to have poached eggs. 13 yr old stepson has a friend staying this weekend so wii and music seems to be the 2 constants here (and not my choice of music of course)
Take care all

ps reading Peace is Every Step so will look out some beautiful quotes and post them later today0 -
wmf -lovely posting with such positive messages. Hope I get to that stage eventually. I'll never stop worrying -I think its just in my nature - but I might get to prioritise what I worry about.
ceridwen - I'll have another go at your blog in a bit............hope it works this time.............:j
Am in between coats of paint drying at the minute having at last decided which colour to paint first hubby's plant trough. The general idea is to get it done today (if poss)..........when paint is dry stick on skeleton leaves and if OH can tear himself away from sunday newspaper and locate the bit of wood for the top I can get that painted, put it back up the corner and thats another little bit of my computer room de-cluttered -next step - finding the bed settee in here under a pile of coats..........lolMary

Still struggling my way into M.S.E. at present (it seems to be down to a problem with accessing certain parts of the Internet generally).
- and now my keyboard is playing up.
Oh boy.
Have been compiling list of fave links/blogs of various descriptions - which has turned into rather a long index. I will post this on my blog bit by bit. Found I've got so many links that I need to do some subdividing into sections first (9 pages of - so it will take a bit of doing).
wmf - know that book. Thich Nath Than (did I get the spelling right?) - so will look forward to those quotes.0 -
I followed a link on this page to the Greenpa site, where I read that in Haiti many people are reduced through poverty to eating mud cakes (mud mixed with oil and sugar) to quell their hunger pangs. Following the trail of links, I read about global warming releasing methane and the disastrous consequences that will almost certainly follow. Searching for some light at the end of the tunnel, I read an article about wind power electricity provision on the west coast of Ireland. There is a complex where all sorts of energy saving measures are being tried and some of them are being used by Heinz in a factory there. Their largest energy costs come from freezing the food they produce but they proudly boast that they have saved a considerable sum by a new method of production. What are they making? Frozen dinners. For dieters. :doh:0

Its okay mary ...panic not....you CAN get into my blog now to leave comments. I've changed it to enable anonymous comments (so all my MSE friends can come "visiting" without a problem). I've checked - it does work okay. Just go through the little identifying letters thingie - putting in the ones it says (may take the 2-3 times these identifier thingies sometimes take - as the letters are occasionally not that clear) and then click on the "Anonymous" box thing.
I've been in today adding entries. I've started putting in the "ceridwen enquire within on everything index" as I call it - to date I have put the best of the links I have garnered over the last few months on:
- budget/simple living
- food (with my somewhat veggie slant on this - lol)
- housing sites (of the somewhat more alternative slant)
- kindness
I have several other topics I will be putting lists of useful links on for - but feel "typed out" for today on this - whew!0 -

Hi Charis
Got your P.M. - and, as I stated, I am reading the news with shock - but (though I am naturally more a pessimist than optimist) - I am in the 50% chance we can pull through all this. I dont follow the blind optimism that states "technology will solve all" for us and get us out of this mess we have gotten ourselves into. But I do think - with enough knowledge and effort on our part - we can make it through.
One of my favourite phrases "Knowledge is power" and it really helps a lot on a personal level and I believe, if we are all informed, that it can be "power" to us on a wider scale. These are testing times - but I'm a "fighter" myself and I rate the odds as winnable.0
