Fortunately absolutely no moving required, so just opened the bubbly to celebrate. Just looking at ways to freshen up the house while I save up some money for the renovations!badger09 said:
Oh golly. Condolences on your recent loss. Your username is super appropriate and I hope you’ll be very happy in your ‘new’ home.emotionalrollercoaster said:Thanks to everyone for their lovely reassuring comments and suggestions.
All went well and I'm the proud owner of my lovely home. I got the call in the supermarket so did a little happy dance and shed a few tears.
Planted a cherry tree and cleared the garden, followed by a toast and some food with family and friends.
It was a bittersweet days because my husband died in October but glad to stay put and keep my memories of our home where they belong.I came to your thread too late, but was going to suggest you spent the weekend packing random stuff in random boxes. Make sure to include a damp tea towel & hand towel in separate boxes, all your cutlery and the kettle, then pile the boxes up with the fragile/useful stuff at the bottom & heavy books, ornaments etc on top. Bash some furniture against doors for good measure. Then do a frantic deep clean @ 03.30 on Monday, sleep on a mattress on the floor & let your phone battery run down. Only then will you know the true joy of a more typical Completion day.And our removers were some of the better ones😳0 -
He certainly was - it's lovely to be a homeowner but wish he was here in person to celebrate. Popped a little memento in the cherry tree pot so he can help it grow.Skiddaw1 said:Congratulations @emotionalrollercoaster . I bet he was with you throughout...

Absolutely lovely thread. Huge congrats to the OP and so sorry for your recent loss.
Delighted for you that the purchase and 'move' was a positive experience - sounds like the least stressful way to do things by far!1 -
Enjoy your home and drink a toast to your hubby xxxx1
