Hiย @Soontobeoap I would just say don't cut everything out but just have a little and less often.ย I will say that I rarely. have bread, I get fat if I eat it, IBS has helped me cut it out.ย I was going / tempted to have a Turkey bacon sandwich last week... it was over 400 cal on the bread and butter, I just had the bacon and tomato in the end.
I no longer have cereal; it makes me so hungry and stops me having milk.ย ย Pasta and rice are only eaten about once a year as Mr Pepper does not eat them so helps to cut those carbs. last had rice over a year ago as it would mean a drive to the Chinese who do not deliver.ย I have a token spud on my plate if we have them, does not get eaten all the time.
I still drink and have snacks, but snacks are 100 cal max and booze is white spirit with a clear / carb free mixer. I refuse to have rice cakes, crab sticks, Ryvita and all those diet club staples are on my banned list.ย
We are also not on a diet, it's better / healthy / improving what we eat.... changes to stay.ย It's ok to put a little weight on at times, we are not perfect. I need to tell myself this more.

Thanks @jennystarpepper my aim is just to eat healthier and exercise more. I too have IBS and am gluten and lactose free. I have also started taking iron tablets which cause other problems so loads of roughage needed for me! ๐คฃ. Hi everyone, some kind and thoughtful posts on this thread ๐ย I have found it much easier losing weight by cutting out/down on alcohol because its not just the empty calories but also the nibbles that increase the calories consumed.ย I've also increased my exercise and plan on doing more as the weather improves.ย Good luck for the coming week guys.4

I'd like to join in too if that's alright. Between the recently diagnosed osteoarthritis in my knees and having to give up work I've become rather inactive (used to walk 35-40 miles a week) so I've put on weight. I've decided as I'm coming up to my 40th birthday I need to shift those extra pounds and checking in here seems a good motivational place. Keeping off the booze is key for me. Empty calories. Your body burns off the alcohol before anything else apparently. Also booze induced snacking and hangover carb cravings. I have been having gin and slimline instead of wine, but I really need to stop if I want to get rid of the extra lbs.ย4

Definately agree with what Pixie_Cosmo said about the alcahol and associated munchies. I'm attempting a dry April to kick start my weight loss and am checking in with aย 2lb loss ๐
