Thank you Shrewbie8

@Shrewbie well done to your mum!
@thriftylass, hugs, no idea how to solve your problem but I know I will NEVER have a joint account with anyone again and will always be totally financially independent. It's due to an other half having no ability to budget that I landed in the mess that brought me here! Thankfully all resolved now (involved losing the other half for many reasons of which the financial issues were just a tiny part).
I've not checked in for days, but I'm on NSD 12, have worked a lot and the weather is back to winter!
Grateful today for "a plan", that I have failed to be organised enough to put the winter clothes in the loft so I had an easily accessible wooly hat and a date for my dad's planned surgery (not a life threatening issue but one that causes him a lot of pain).

Well done mummy @Shrewbie! Thanks for offering to do next month's thread too.
Hugs @thriftylass, hopefully things will improve for you & remember you've got us cheering you on towards your goals.
Did yoga this morning before breakfast. Had a different working day today, worked in the library, then went to the secondary school in town to support my pupil's transition. The class teacher who has been off for a year, came in to say bye to them, then we had snacks in the staff room, which was nice.
Unpicked a zip when I got home, sewed it in after tea, then found a slightly longer zip in the bag, so unpicked the other one. Will have to re-sew it tomorrow night. Prepped for my review meeting tomorrow.
Grateful for DH lighting a fire (though my toes are still cold), the day going well, laughs in the staff roomUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Good morning, thanks for all your support re DH.
Got up early and went for a walk. Off to a good start. Need to pay the car service later (£334 incl 2 new tyres) as my banking app played up yesterday.
Found the hotel voucher I got for my birthday. Think I'll book it for next Tues for my annual mum retreat (Work-Hotel-Work), no dinner, chores or tantrums.
Have a good dayDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/259 -
Morning turtles,
Nothing much to report yesterday. No NSD as needed to do a small top up shop. Bought a huge bag of shelled peanuts, going to try to use them to make peanut butter. My colleague brought mini eggs into work in the afternoon which was amazing but set me off on a snaccident which lasted all evening, as bf picked up some snacky things later for us as well. I’m a sucker for a chocolate and crisps combination. I had an aerial hoop class booked in the evening but cancelled it as I’d woken up with a sore neck and didn’t want to make it worse, but that was an excuse really. Will try to do better today!!Grateful for the occasional bit of junk food, for generous colleagues, for this being the last five day week for a little while.Student loan £5655

Well done shrewbies mum! We are all marathon runners here, of one kind or another! Mum retreat sounds like a wonderful idea Thriftylass. Do what you need to do to fill your own battery up
Away for work. Just resting and letting hayfever tablets work post a lovely hot shower before I have to hot foot it across the city. Still a palava to shower as wounds need to be covered, but feels great to be clean! Having DIY removed the very chipped gel nails yesterday, and filed my nails, and used a lovely feeling cucumber face wash from my boots points, I am currently feeling like I ace preparation for in person meetings. Back in spendier times and earlier in career ladder it wasn't unknown for me to have hair and make up done for me ahead of big meetings!
Lodger #3 has paid her first weekly rent, she's paying a bit more than the others as here on a ad hoc basis. As soon as the rent went in TV license DD went out. I think that's how it's going to be with her rent, it helps buffer against bigger bills rather than adds up to something I can see making a difference to our lifestyle. But all very much helps, and the household seems happy. Am yet to tell DD that her bedroom is otherwise occupied for the foreseeable future (she is out of the country for all bar 7 days of this period, and was planning on staying with her dad/ visiting me with my parents) so should be fine! Theres a sofa bed if she needs it, and a third of the rent goes into her UK bank account for doing nice things with.
Right, best skidaddle. I have a travel lodge breakfast waiting for me. Cant face anything just yet but have a sandwich bag to take something away for later!

Thirftylass - Hope you're feeling a bit better today. It's difficult to know what to suggest re DH. What works for one couple moneywise doesn't work for another. We do something similar to f0xh0les and it works well for us. But, I guess, it might not be that easy to get him to agree to something like that. Anyway, enjoy your mum retreat.
Mothernerd - I hope you're feeling a lot better too. Sending you lots of hugs.
Shrewbie - Well done to Mum for even running a marathon and what a great time! Thanks for volunteering for May.
Yesterday was NSD No 12 (I think!) I gave the fridge a long overdue tidy and clean. Goodness knows how it gets that untidy. Actually, that's a lie. I know exactly how it gets that untidy. And it's not me that stuffs anything and everything anywhere it will fit (or in most cases not fit). Freezers are ridiculously full. I'm going to have to start cooking properly again. Think I might make a fish pie later.
Better get dressed and go spend an obscene amount of money at the opticians.
Speak to you later. Have a good day. xxx
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8 -
