Did yoga before breakfast. A gloriously sunny day. Had a good day at work, including a short walk with a pupil this afternoon. Was planning to go a walk after work, but was chatting with the new teacher about tomorrow's plans, so walked with DH after tea instead. Unpicked the hems of 4 pairs of trousers & pinned them at the new length, ready to sew tomorrow night.
Grateful for laughs with the office staff, one of them giving me some magazines, a nice walk with beautiful sceneryUse it up, wear it out

Everything crossed here too @Toni'sfriend.
This journey does involve an awful lot of complicated information, even when the news is good, its still complicated to take in. Its no wonder you were tearful after the conversation today.
We have a mobile number to reach the breast care nurse on, and I have started texting after the appointments to just confirm I understood things correctly, or to ask for a short call to clarify things. I find it's very hard to take it all in in one go, and the key questions arise in the early hours afterwards. Someone advised me quite early on to ask 'how do I reach you if I have questions about this conversation after I leave?' and it has proved helpful every time I asked it, apart from last weekend that is!
I've also started to tell extended family and friends that key appointments are a few days after they actually are. That gives us processing time and a buffer if we don't feel up to giving updates. Before, people's kind concern was a bit exausting on top of our own anxiety and tiredness.
I hope this helps a little. x9 -
If I had any spare cash, I'd be paying myself about £20 as I have cleaned and cleaned this evening. Downstairs communal areas are looking pretty good, just a bit of tidying to finish off tomorrow. Bathroom, cloakroom and the empty bedroom to sort out tomorrow before potential lodger is here for a trial night . I think I should be able to do it in about an hour.
I find the temporary nature of cleaning quite dispiriting, especially in a busy house, so I alternated today with an hour or so cleaning and then 20 min on a more permanent job on the very long list. I repainted my front door, compost bin and water butt (it's a pvc paint, and was done previously, so this was just to smarten up). Front door was so tatty and I had this half used tin just sat in the shed, so it took no time or money at all! I also painted a coffee table - a question of spraying with a chalky finish paint, again, had been done before, just got a bit worn. Very pleased with both results, and feels like I have something to show for my evening!
Had a use-it-up dinner, hm pizza dough from freezer, bits and pieces on top of it. Followed by 0li0 croissants for pudding. Accompanied by peaky blinders. Now going to enjoy my own bed for the night!9 -
Good morning turtles
still on Nsd 6 as a top up shop was needed (well wanted if I’m being honest-just had to have fresh bread)
Nothing really to report, have been writing, meditating and exercising but not doing much focused Spanish practice. Will try to get up a bit early to have more time to write and do other things… although I have almost two hours as it is!grateful for having a good laugh with colleagues yesterday, for a peaceful morning, for bread and butter.Student loan £5655

Sending good vibes, lots of love and very gentle hugs Toni'sfriend. Tried crossing my fingers and can just about do it but not sure I can hold the position. I can wiggle my toes - celebrate the small wins and after days of every movemnt being painful, it's very welcome.
Didn't do much again yesterday but did eat healthily (foraged in the fridge for anything that could be eaten raw - carrots, yellow tomatoes, chestnut mushrooms and cocktail beetroot), I did use some packet rice and some 'fat-free' dressing and it was disgusting - both were very ood so they've been binned. Lots of water too and a kids size smoothie with apple juice and lots of berries. Hoping for more progress today, my holly plants arrived (planted some of the raspberries into the ground from tubs). Rubbish/ recycling going well and moved small quantities of sifted soil and collected stones/ lumps of mortar). Several large cardboard boxes were moved into the yard to use as mulch.
Grateful for getting something done, good books (re-reading several series I own and have ordered a couple of the latest ones - was ordering a book for the baby so added bits on to get free postage, all second hand). Good series - finished my Irish police series (no second series) but have started a comic crime caper with Anthony Head (Giles from Buffy) and Warren Clarke (Dalziel from Dalziel and Pascoe) and Dean Lennox Kelly (shameless, Shakespeare in Dr Who and John Simm's brother) plus the wonderful Jenny Agutter.5 -
Good morning,
Hopefully today will be a good day in many respects!
My mojo finally found it's way back to me after being still on holiday a bit longer. Woke up before the alarm, decluttered a kitchen drawer while the kids were getting ready and cycled to work. Will treat myself to lunch from the shop (had HM lunch the last 3 days) if I also make it to the gym.
Read a few good books over the holidays and watched a few declutter videos to get inspired. I find even the kitchen tough as I have an emotional attachment to most gadgets.
The egg slicer my mum used to use to make 70s style food decorations for family gatherings, the cake slice I might one day use for a black forest gateau, the nut cracker that reminds me of Christmas as a child, the 80 year old kitchen aid food mixer that is cracked and smells funny when run too long but still works and was my late mother in laws - none of which I have used in years and need to go! I will go by the rules
- have I used it in the last year
- will I use it next year
- does it cost £20 or less to replace (if not then it goes in the "time will tell" box)
- is it irreplaceable (like my wedding dress or my dad's army compass) and is connected to very special memories/stories
Also had quite a few Euros (gifted mostly when back in Germany) and thought about changing them back to stick onto the CC. Highstreet buy back rates were atrocious but I found an online trader and it was so quick and the rate was great. That softened the blow of the ferry price yesterday a bit.
Off to do some work
Good luck to everyone who needs it today

Thank you all so very, very much for all your good wishes. They must have worked. The surgeon is happy with the scan and I don't need chemo. Just a course of radiotherapy and a hormone tablet. There is a small nodule on one lung but they are not at all concerned about it. Apparently these are usually harmless and lots of people get these as they get older and don't even know that they have them. However, since they do know they'll do another CT scan in 3 months just to keep an eye on it. But all in all just the best news this morning.
And an enormous bouquet of flowers has just arrived from the lovely cousin.
I am so relieved I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
Be back later with a proper post but, once again, thank you so much.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.13 -
