@Toni'sfriend glad you have received positive news today, sending hugs!
Today was a NSD, woke up early so decided to head into work earlier than planned. Cycled halfway then got the train for the rest of the journey. Almost bought a very expensive fitness watch but luckily stopped myself - I have the money in savings but started to stress about it and realised a potential purchase shouldn't make me feel that way! I've also overspent on stuff this month already so there's no need for more!
Work kept me relatively busy, cycled partway home then ducked out when the rain got too heavy and caught the train the rest of the way.

I've worked very hard today, one tiny bit at a time. Lots of sifting and shifting (soil, stones, rubbish, weeds and dead leaves and branches), added water to the coir blocks. Shuffled things around in the back yard. Ate lunch before carrying on with wall building (was ready to sit down after carrying all the packs of sand and cement mortar mix outside, collecting water, my gloves and the scissors to cut open the bags. Brought one bin back from the end of the backs and it was very tough - the other bin is still there. Pizza boxes in the bottom (to soak up anything that leaks from the bags), large bag brought from inside and added to, followed by a small bag from my earlier efforts.
I have done the second layer of the small wall (2 or 3 cobbles high as some cobbles were clumped together and I've used them like that. Can't really get at the other wall that needs rebuilding so had a good look round and decided to try moving as much as possible (all the smaller stuff) nearer to the house. All the seed trays and mushroom boxes came out from the lower layers of the herb shelves, the sage, chives, rosemary, thyme and lemon balm are doing splendidly, the oregano has disappeared. Some oddments into the space under the shelves. I had taken the boards outside to make space for wall building so moved the old garden chairs they'd been on and picked up many bags and pieces of garden equipment, moved two heavy containers with a combination of rolling and 'walking' them (I was sitting down).
Mr robin has been around most of the day coming within 3 feet of me. Then I noticed there were two of them (so maybe we will have baby robins sometime) and they came really close - one hopped over my foot.
By this time (roughly 4 pm) I was very tired, spending more time resting than doing but kept dragging myself upright again to move just 3 things. A tub of fat balls, various broken items and empty mortar bags. Only had 3 more slats to move and then I could roll back the old weed suppressant, put down the new pieces and start to move my trees into line (they will roll along on their rims). Moved something nearer the grid and as I walked away from it my bad ankle gave way (didn't quite hold me) and I started to fall sideways. Luckily I'd brought one of my wooden kitchen chairs out first thing when I was doing the coir blocks and I managed to catch hold of the back to steady myself.
Hobbled inside, heated a can of soup then settled on the couch. Went to the bathroom, collected my laptop and only when I was back at the couch did I take my wellies off. I've done a food order as I've eaten most of the fresh stuff that I can eat raw and can't do the planned cooking if I can't stand or move about (little arseda has gone on jusstt eat so it came within half an hour). When DS3 came down he carried my bags upstairs (including enough food and drinks to get me through tomorrow - the rest is still behind the front door, it's cool enough in the vestibule). I hobbled up one step at a time, gripping both handrails to drag myself up. I've tried out a cohesive bandage I bought a while ago and it was doing a very good job until the ankle gave out.
Grateful for rapid food deliveries (5 day picnic for me and lots of fruit), getting things done (I've got far enough to be able to see that my plans will work), my bed, lots of books and a good series to watch.

@Toni'sfriend- wonderful news!
It's good to get your health update with so much sadness on the thread- @ditty1234 such awful news for you.
@f0xh0les and @Starlight_at_Sea- glad it's not just me that had friendship struggles! Although I will definitely not be joining your naked darts team @f0xh0les.
I've made it to 10 NSDs, back at work this week, but everything seems easier when the sky is blue and the sun is shining!

Fantastic news @Toni'sfriend! 🎉🎉
Great to hear about your volunteering @beanielou, I hope you make some new friends there too.
A baby robin would be awesome @grandmanerd, I hope it happens 🤞
Another scorcher of a day, forecast rain & wind again from Saturday though. Had a good day at work, spent a lot of it outside. Met DS3 afterwards, went a little walk then attended his parents evening, all very good 😃 DH phoned to say we needed eggs, so a small spend on the way home. Did 3 lots of sewing after tea, then had a bath & started a new book.
I'm a fan of Dean Lennox Kelly too @grandmanerd. He was also in a series called Jamestown, I was so excited as another character was meeting a future wife off the boat, with the same name as me & Dean kept saying my name to him in a swooning voice 🤣 think I recorded it on my phone! 🤣😂🤣
Grateful for a gorgeous day, my Norwegian friend having a good first day after her op, that it's nearly the weekendUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃
