I've just had a response from cifas regarding the DSAR I submitted. Al Rayan undertook a search on 13/3/23. 2 days before LBG decided to close my accounts.

If anyone has an Al Rayan account, it might be a good idea to close it asap, especially if you have accounts with Lloyds/BOS/Halifax.

If anyone wants to close their Al Rayan accounts, it's your choice, but it feels unlikely this will have a blanket effect across their whole customer base. I disagree with it being 'a good idea' at this stage. If you want me to definitely see your reply, please tag me @forumuser7 Thank you.

Seems unnecessary, as I presume most financial institutions will undertake regular(ish) checks. There's a reason that people with CIFAS markers eventually find (already open) accounts with other banks facing closure.
