Octopus Agile

I’ve moved back to intelligent octopus go. The wind seems to have gone completely and the off peak prices are just not attractive enough for EV charging.
Anyone with a crystal ball for the summer? Am I right to assume Agile rates are more likely to be great during the day when solar generation is strong? And less favourable during the overnight hours?0 -
No, yes, yes, if history shows us anything!

I think what we have seen for the past few days is most likely to be happening for next few months (with exception to sunny windy days).
Highest demand is 6-9am and 4-8pm - so these will be costly.
Lowest demand at night (but no solar).
Basic demand during the day (but solar).0 -
I was on Agile for a while last Summer and this seems to be the pattern in the warmer months with less wind - agile pricing is higher than Tracker in the early morning and from 4pm sometimes till way beyond 7pm, with a dip in the afternoon due to solar.Newbie_John said:I think what we have seen for the past few days is most likely to be happening for next few months (with exception to sunny windy days).

Actually makes it harder to beat tracker in the Summer but still work out better over the whole month for me.0 -
That makes sense, but when I've heard about people swapping between the two, it's been tracker in the winter, and agile in the summer.I was on Agile for a while last Summer and this seems to be the pattern in the warmer months with less wind - agile pricing is higher than Tracker in the early morning and from 4pm sometimes till way beyond 7pm, with a dip in the afternoon due to solar.

Yes - in fact that was what I was thinking last year but if you look at the history, it actually looks like it doesn't really get worse in Winter it's just a different pattern.bob2302 said:

Whilst that may have been true of old tracker, it will likely be a lot closer this year.

I'd be tempted to give Agile a try, now, were it not for the 9-month excommunication from Tracker if I decide it was not a good move. What they call recant being deniedTelegraph Sam
There are also unknown unknowns - the one's we don't know we don't know0 -
I like the email of next day prices that I signed up to with octorati (or something) but the emails don't always come. Is there another email service anyone knows of for this? I know there's apps and websites but I really like the email version.0
