IOG hasn't been competitive for about 2 years, Edf and Eon equivalents are much cheaper.

That's arguable. For me at least, EON Next Drive Smart would be more expensive. EDF Go Electric might save me a penny a kWh on average, but that's only £30 a year or so.

And until April this year, IOG was cheaper than EDF too. It's only since prices went up from 5p to 8p that EDF have crept ahead with their 7p rate.

Day rate (05:30 - 23:30) 40.34p / kWh

Standing charge 70.08p / day

EDF

Night rate (23:00 - 06:00) 6.99p / kWh

Day rate 12 mo tariff 36.54p / kWh

Day rate 18 mo tariff 34.55p / kWh

Standing charge 76.45p / day

So an extra hour off peak and Edf also credit back £5 / month for enabling smart charging. Standing charge is harsher byt effectively covererd in the first kwh savings on the 18 month option.

Obviously for those with battery, savings are negligible other than the £60 / year for enabling smart charging.
