I’ve had a helpful remainder via FB if what it looked like this time last year. So not so bad!

Ohhh wow, I went back and had a look at our usage/cost (evidently I didn't take a screenshot of the prices) and just under 60kWh cost us £23.70 on 10.01.25.  That's with the heat pump turned off for the peak period.

And we didn't even have a CWP to soften the blow last year.  (Come to think of it we didn't get a winter fuel payment either, which we have this year.)

Yes, last winter's prolonged dunkelflaute was a bit of a nightmare for a recent ASHP user. However, I totted up the scores for the year, recently, and I paid out about £180 for the year, which included EV charging, after export payments from 4kW of solar panels. If we'd had WFP I'd have broken even.

    Mustn't grumble...

Well I'm pleased MrEH is not WFH today I confess - that helps, and the fact that we ran the dishwasher overnight on FAR lower rates also helps make the overall picture better as does the fact that it does at least drop straight off the peak at 1900 into sub SVR territory. We've seen worse!

    Phew! Back to normal prices.

I left the heat pump at the night-time set-back temperature and it's been quite warm enough. A lesson learned there. Have used jut under 15kWh at an assumed average of about 35p, so about £8, so far. Not too bad, in the grand scheme of things.

For me, 9.87 units at £2.08 according to my Home Mini, that's a 21p average. Helps that I wasn't at home during daylight hours. I'll consider that a lucky escape.

Topped up the battery overnight, and had a tiny bit of sunshine earlier that kept them full. Ran the DW when the sun was out (on a very short programme). Imported 5.06kWh at a total cost of £1.01 (so far!).

£5.62 Vs £5.80 on standard rate for yesterday.. tbh I didn't do anything special as I wasn't able to - the red zone was too wide to shift too much..

Anyway, monthly average still around 15.5p and Sunday, Monday should help even more!

Very interesting.   Puts a bad day in perspective.

EDF FreePhase Dynamic.    £4.48 vs £4.93 on SVT     ( £4.88 on Agile)

Dynamic monthly average 15.33p.  Little difference

£5.31 vs. £4.34 for me and we didn't do anything different; other than going out for the day there wasn't much we could do. My average is rather higher, around 20/21p depending on what period you look at, but still a decent saving.
