Natural Gas prices have shot up today, perhaps linked to recent news.

    Let's hope it's a temporary blip

probably Europe trying to fill up their storage, of course it will probably filter to the price of electricity too.

In such situations would you expect Agile to "over-react" - both fuels?

Sam agile is not for gas, there is only tracker for gas.

It works on a strict algorithm and relates directly to the actual prices, so it will “react” - but not “over react” I believe.

It's a fairly simple formula, mainly driven by a wholesale price multiplier of 2.0-2.2 depending on region. When wholesale price is high, then doubling it probably is an overreaction, leading to a greater margin, as a significant portion of the distribution costs will not be proportional to the wholesale cost. Though it if hits the cap, the effect of that is reduced.

Have people found any alternatives to emoncms for looking ahead?

I guess there's always the weather forecast but that's of limited use; I saw someone mention Agile Predict but that was useless when I last took notice of it.  A Google search turned up a 2-day demand forecast but I couldn't make head nor tail of it (and if it included generation forecast, I didn't see it).

What's wrong with https://agilepredict.com/  same demand /generation as Emoncms with a few extra bells & whistles

I'd forgotten they had the demand/generation graph!  *facepalm*  Only remembered the pricing.  Brilliant, thank you!
