I seem to remember being hugely disappointed last summer - my first on Agile - that the prices weren't lower.  Seems wind generation makes much more of an impact than solar ...
In perfect sun, the UK's solar generation tops out at about 11GW, from 14GWp of installed capacity, for an hour or two a day.
Wind manages 22GW from 30GW of capacity, and is available all day long.

    2.72kWp PV facing SSW installed Jan 2012. 11 x 247w panels, 3.6kw inverter. 34 MWh generated, long-term average 2.6 Os.
Not exactly back from my break, but dipping in and out of the forum.

I've just realised: I knew, on an intellectual level, that wind had the most impact (thanks to this Energy board).  Yet I've still been giving unwarranted weight to the solar on the emoncms forecast - that's where I've been going wrong!

Even if 99 % comes from wind/solar but 1% from expensive gas - it sets the price for all of them.
Wind can blow at night when the demand is lower - so it becomes a bit unwanted hence it makes everything cheaper, and the sun.. it only shines during the day when the demand is much higher - so it's a perfect gap filler.

It's a cold period now, so again demand goes up. All the lowest Agile prices this year were when it was 10°C+ and windy - lower demand, more power in grid.

I'm averaging 14.07p at the moment on Economy 7 topping up the batteries occasionally overnight, not sure if I'll be back to Agile anytime soon. If it starts getting cheap in the afternoon it's no use to us on sunny days when we're exporting.
If you can make economy 7 work why not pop off to eon next for their 7 hours at 6.7pkwh I think that's what it is.

I've just checked and the rate I can see for my area is 14.002p

Read the T&C's no need for an ev

A bit like Octopus GO when it first came out qnd the likes of many on this forum did so without an EV. The same loophole did exist with EON currently at a very decent price and still seems open to a test of what they will do to check for an EV. As far as I know no energy supplier has ever asked for a V5?

Don't forget the £50 for switching as well if they still do that.

Re read the T&C's further but I have always wondered how they know the difference between a hybrid or EV charging rather than batteries as they do not say you need a specific EV charger to be eligible.

I would consider it with just batteries to see what the outcome was but sadly batteries just got pushed out for a new wooden floor throughout the downstairs.

The 6.7p rate is on their EV tariff.

Tbh Hybrid Vehicles have a battery of 1kWh size.. it doesn't say you can't join without EV, it just says they can remove you (it also doesn't say they will).

There is a good offer at Argos for electric cars - 2 for £15  B)

I think this is valid electric vehicle, maybe a mobility scooter. There is a Rascal mobility scooter for sale for £40 just up the road from us.

So that's £50 for the switch referral and spend £40 on a mobility scooter, take a picture and serial number and if questioned send Eon the details.

The epitomy of an electric vehicle.

That kind of hybrid with that size of battery can't be charged at home, and so wouldn't count.
