Not if it's too strong and they have to shut the wind turbines down.......... There's strong, and too strong.

If its from the west, especially south west, it will still at least warm up the weather and freshen the air.

Last week we had cold air coming up from the south which I thought was very odd, but the weather forecasters never explained why that was, unless it was coming across the Alps perhaps?

If its south east it would maybe explain it, also if its low levels of wind, as areas like France are in winter as well, the south west has tropical air pushing to this part of the globe.

I'm lucky to have a battery, it's not massive, but gets me through the peak.

As long as my average price is lower than the my previous tariff's off peak, then I'm winning. Currently 12.5p/kWh average rate.

And as people say, it may be cheap at the weekend due to the weather. Plus spring is approaching (slowly!).

PPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)

    HIGH PRICE ALERT!
     Tomorrow's Prices: 22nd January
     Overnight low ~ 21p
    Morning peak ~ 62p
     Afternoon low ~ 66p
    Evening peak ~ 99.99p
Not sure I’ll be charging the hybrid overnight tonight - it’s probably just cheaper to do the 18 ish miles it gives me on petrol I think.
Have you got a neighbour with an EV tariff who would give you a top-up?
Nice idea but no unfortunately not. It’s not a massive deal really - doing the numbers I think it’s borderline at 21p per unit so I’ll just use petrol tomorrow for the whole work journey - although it does some self charging automatically :)

Not seeing comments from anybody saying they are ditching Agile for something else (unlike on the Tracker threads where a lot of people are coming to the end of their contract). Are we all just grinning and bearing it?

Even looking at the past week I’m still saving on Agile vs Tracker or SVT - ok not much but it’s not enough for me to switch to one of the other tariffs because I know that once the wind and then the sun returns prices will drop. On those very expensive days I can reduce my usage to about 2-2.5kwh with any cooking after 7pm. With a hybrid car, and mostly no significant energy needs 4-7pm, Agile makes a lot of sense for me.

So no, no plans to jump ship here - definitely looking forward to Friday though :)

Someone suggested to me the other day about looking at Economy 7 as a winter option (we have solar and batteries). Is Agile the same as Tracker in that if you come off the tariff you can't go back on again for 9 months?
    Grinning & Bearing, here.

    This month so far,

    7 day average 20.86p/kwh
    28 day average 15.66pbkwh

So short term pain, long term gain is my strategy.

I was on tracker until last February then switched to Agile. I don't have an EV and can't/won't switch all usage out of the evening peak, so neither of those tariffs are viable for me right now - also it looks to me like prices are only going one way while Tracker/Agile will become less attractive as the versions change.

Switched on to an Octopus fix late December but now on a Fuse fix at 22.5 (although gas is still fixed with Octopus at 5.74). No regrets so far!

I quite liked the last 99.9 peak a few weeks ago  .no problem .Nights are drawing out now till 5 pm so will come in about 5 pm  and get in my lovely down sleeping bag on the sofa  and switch the whole shebang off at consumer unit  from 4  pm to 7.30 pm and use zero electricity and watch Youtube on the mobile or doze off a bit along with the cat . .When the price gets silly I l get sillier and will  not use one watt .

OH was moaning this morning that he doesn't have enough shirts ironed for working from home. This is from a man with about 40-50 shirts. There's 5 waiting to be ironed, but apparently the many others are too good to wear working at home.......  He currently works in the office one day a week............  Doesn't add up does it!
