Hospital visits etc and other reasons,  no time to  able to keep up with those and worry about trying to get my electric below the average 16.1p / kWh I pay now.
Wow, what tariff are you on to get that low?

If signature is current, then Flux.
Correct plus I top my battery up to c10kWh at 15.1p , most days it lasts ,the odd import when cooking whenever. Go would be good but don’t have an EV
    EDIT
Oh on gas average for 12 months 4.95p

  • Ah, excellent.  (I completely missed that you even had a signature, sorry.)
  • The aforesaid largely mirrors my situation: Dec 23 Tracker is a contender for the lead just now but will cease to be so when it dies for me mid Feb. But a surprising no of posters have pointed out how competitive Agile is even if on the surface the "metrics" (load phasing etc).don't seem to fit. So I'm keeping an open mind whilst we wait to see if there will be  a "Jan 25 v 1".
Is there an easy way of seeing the spectrum of what the world of fixed tariffs has to offer us?

"End of Year Report" or my first full year on Agile (joined December 23)

Total import of 13,400 kWhr, Average cost per unit 16.7p
If you also include the 3000 units of generated and consumed solar, that becomes 13.6 p/kWhr for our usage

"All Electric House", 2 Adults, 3 Older Teens, ASHP, EV, Some Work From Home
Closed the year out at midnight in the hot tub, watching the meter gently ticking down

Seems a good saving to me!

Still 3 minutes of heating/hot water left to go, but today is currently looking like around 24kWh for -12p... Definitely cheaper than oil!

Just got my Agile renewal. The SC is the same as for the SVT, so about 10p more than now. Hoping for lots of wind and sun in the coming year.

The standing charges are now making up the majority of our electricity bill.

We've use 1441 kwh at a total cost of £139.95, so 9.71p per kWh. In addition we consumed 1626kWh generated by our panels.

Our export of 2436 kWh has earned us £365.

The 3067 kWh we used is more than we were using prior to having the panels, but we have done things like importing at negative rates to use electric where we would have used gas for heating hot water etc, but all things considered, the panels have 'saved' us around £1K last year, our first full calendar year.

Limited possibility for free solar installs via Government grant from June this year, for fuel poor homes (which as someone pointed out does not exclude homes with low electric bills) and then zero standing charge tariffs from end of the year so be interesting to see where TOU tariffs go with s/c's (as they should be the first contender as they save the Grid a bit and Octopus may get ahead of the curve again) and if not whether they remain the best deal with solar fitted. Does mean that from March I am facing even more extortionate s/c's than the current 55p a day, though. December was relatively warm so I saved about sixty quid on gas and seven quid on electric compared to December last year (before I switched to Agile and Gas Tracker) but no winter fuel allowance, alas.

That would be quite something - if all the providers created a version of Agile and made it standing charge free 😅
