But I need to know whether to go for a blat round the mountains to make some room in the car battery. It's not so much fun in the dark.
    Go go go go
  • Only one half-hour of plunge. I'll scoop up some of those next to nothing electrons, though.

I will be filling 50% of my cars battery for about 6p which will do nicely

  • 6 hours of granny charging should get me to about 90% for very little cash.

...another later than usual day for notification, but Octopus Watch predicting 6 hours of pricing at or below zero. If the prediction proves accurate long may it continue!

Yeah, I need to get this storage heater malarkey sorted out sooner rather than later! (not least because it's starting to get a bit nippy in the mornings...)

Data for yesterday and average cost for the last 3 days. I took a gamble on @Spies being correct and turned off the water heating for a couple of days, relying on what was in the tank. I then turned it on yesterday to take full advantage of the plunge pricing and prolonged mega-cheap rates. The figures for Agile are what I will actually be charged - the Tracker and SVR figures are what I would have paid for those tariffs. These figures are amongst the best, but there hasn't been a day since starting on Agile in May when Agile hasn't been lower than Tracker (for me) and either Agile or Tracker have come close to the SVR.

So thanks everyone for the predictions - keep them coming

    Energy imported on 2023-09-24:    15.947kWh
    Cost for each tariff:
    Agile    £1.05    Tracker    £2.56    SVR    £5.15
    Standing charge:
    Agile    44.12p    Tracker    44.12p    SVR    48.66p
    Cost per kWh:
    Agile    3.79p    Tracker    13.29p    SVR    29.23p

Average energy imported per day over the last 3 days: 7.219kWh
    Average total cost per day:
    Agile    £0.99    Tracker    £1.51    SVR    £2.57
    Average standing charge per day:
    Agile    44.12p    Tracker    44.12p    SVR    48.66p
    Average cost per kWh:
    Agile    7.56p    Tracker    14.8p    SVR    28.92p

I pulled 29kw on Saturday and averaged about 5p/kwh

Next cheap or plunge is likely early hours of Thursday.

If the storm is as half as bad as they say it might be, wont they turn off the wind turbines?
