OK - that works for you. Allowing that the person who asked about signatures actually already has one though, I guess they probably have them showing though. Obviously, if they chose to go that route, then the information they are helpfully showing there rather than typing it out afresh in a thread each and every time it's relevant won't be visible to you.

Indeed,  I thought it relevant to mention signatures as no doubt other people have it setup the same way.  On some pages there is more signature than actual post content.

There must be a middle way where repetitive info that is relevant to the thread is included underneath the sig, but other general details are not. I can't figure out how to edit / add text to what is already showing

Tap your name at the top of one of your own posts. 

Tap profile, then the blue icon on the right hand side. 

That gives you the options to change your signature.

Go to your Profile page, click on the head & shoulders silhouette at the top towards the right and click Edit profile, then on the right under Account & Privacy settings, click on Signature Settings. Add as you require and click Save.

What combination of codes / icons does one use to insert text? Presumably one of the choices under Format, 6th from the left.

I've always just typed my text as normal, although there are codes you can use for colours etc, they mostly relate to the old forum. (which is how my signature includes colour!)
