@B789, while I think I understand your reason for hosting a copy of a Government document on your Dropbox, I do has reservations about the suitability of that.

The big issue that I see is... how are you going to keep the stuff you host up to date?

For example, take the document mentioned in your above post. It has a published date of Monday 6th April 2020, which coincidentally makes it exactly three years old today.
It will be due for review very soon.
As soon as a revised version is published, your dropbox image becomes outdated. Do you have any way of being notified of updates to the documents that you host copies of?

Also links to your dropbox images are going to be scattered across this forum. People are going to rely on the information they find in totally unrelated, and probably forgotten, threads.

Whilst I applaud your attempt to make important information more easily accessible, I do feel there must be a better way. Unfortunately, I don't know what that 'better way' might be.

I have also noticed that you have hosted other stuff written by posters on this forum. For example, the checklist you have 'lifted' from the opening post of the template defence thread. Again I understand your reason, but I also have the same reservation - your dropbox snapshot will become out of date and people won't be referring to the latest information.

I make this post purely to point out my concerns. Please take it as constructive.   :)
So how long after submission should I await for email correspondence to say it's been received??
You should get an automatic email receipt within a matter of minutes.

A few days later you should see an entry on your MCOL Claim History something like...
Your defence was received on dd/mm/yyyy
I've been waiting 15 minutes, nothing. If I don't get a response in an hour, is there another way I can respond?

I'll check the MCOL in a few days time. Seems odd that I've not had the automated email response.

I wonder if I should use another email address?

We have had reports of 'the process' not working with gmail.
Can you re-send it via another email service?

Not using Gmail, using hotmail. That was going to be my alternative email address. Might have to use another person's email if that is the case.

I do appreciate the constructive criticism. My intention was to try and make finding often-used documents and other useful information easier to find as we all know how poor the search function is on this forum.  The same problem though already exists in that many of the links already in place within existing threads are also out of date or likely to be at some point.

The other option that I am working on, is just a simple webpage that links directly to the actual web location for those documents. The issue, again, with that is that much of the information such as the checklists are simply posts within threads, often with hundreds of posts which make the searching and/or finding of those lists difficult to nigh on impossible for some readers.

Personally, I try to make sure that if those lists are updated, then the document can be revised. I understand the concern that it then becomes reliant on myself to make sure that the pdf versions are up to date. How that is overcome, I am not sure either.

For now, the links to the case studies are not a problem but any changes to the checklists or any other documents, for now, will need to be notified to me in order that I can reflect those changes. Maybe an accessible Dropbox or web repository for use by those of us who are interested in making the accessibility of these often-used documents so that they can be edited by us as and when any changes are known?

Happy to start a start a separate thread to discuss this.

Do you think it could be the fact that my document is a word document and not a PDF as suggested in the TD sticky thread? 🤔

Definitely resubmit until you get an auto-reply.  At the moment it is NOT RECEIVED AT ALL.
