These posts asking, almost demanding, an update appear distasteful to me. This is someone's life, these are complex family and financial issues at play.
Maybe they decided to compromise to maintain a relationship but are reluctant to say that for fear of criticism here. Maybe they got tired of being treated like an alternative to people's favourite soap opera. Maybe they received their inheritance and are lying on a beach drinking cocktails.16 -
Please just wait a bit longer . I will update when I have it sorted. Thank you @Mands hubby will definitely be celebrating when it's sorted7

It might be worth bearing in mind, perhaps mentioning to your hubby, that there's likely to be a complex mix of emotions when this is sorted, not just relief. And that that's completely normal.
All the best with everything,

Agreed Mands, I tend to think of this as like grief. So lots of conflicting emotions, some surprising and some almost rational.
The other thing I would say re the OP's situation and MSE is that personally it is impossible to post about complex situations regarding family issues as some are possibly unique and I'd almost certainly have to decline to answer many questions because friends and family could identify the cases. Unless I had the specific permission of others, some of whom cannot or could not consent, I'd risk betraying them. Even though I know that there are people here who understand the legal or benefit issues with which we are struggling.

The money arrived in my husband account this afternoon. There has been a few weeks of sorting out final balance including interest accrued. Solicitor on Friday said it was due any day soon.
Can't believe the wait is finally over. Thank you for all the help advice and patience.33 -
