Morning, 
Strange week here. DD started college yesterday and all went well. At least I mean she's gone back today, so that's good!
And then on Friday I am taking DS2 up north to uni. 
I have a few day today which feels very odd. 
I and going to maje a list of jobs to do and see how I get on. I am so used to my days being full of ferrying DD around and dong things with her it's a bit odd! 

So list. 
Ring dentist 🥺tried several times 
Cancel swim trial ✅

Play MY music ✅(maybe a little dancing!)

Lots of ✅s to yesterday's list but I did cherry pick the easiest ones!!
I also did a food order, sorted my work stuff out. And the healing work took a couple of hours. 
Wednesday today already, DDs 3rd day at college and I popped in at 7pm to find her fast asleep, I think the early starts and long days will take some getting used to! 
I had a bit of work, and haven't done very much else a very laid back day.
Did a wash, put the food order away when it came, walked the dog, cooked and relaxed! 

I have realised I have burnout. I've been reading up on it and I'm sure. Although it mostly talks about burnout happening to over worked people in business. Mine is parental burnout. Having 2 with autism and anxiety has been an enormous challenge. Particularly Since 2020 and with. DD, she is quite wonderful, but very difficult at times in what's been a very challenging situation. However, if she continues to cope at college, it will completely change my life. I know i should be making the most of my new found freedom,  but I just don't have the energy or the fight left in me to do all the jobs which are screaming to be done!
So I'm taking it easy,! Same again tomorrow. Then on Friday I am taking DS2 up to uni, it's over 4 hours drive so I'm decided to stay over and not rush back.

Morning, having a relaxing morning so far and putting off making a job list! 
DD has gone off to college this morning but did tell me last night at 10pm she was too tired to go in today. She did look completely knackered. I said only 2 days and it's the weekend! It's going to take alit of adjusting to being up so early and out all day on top of all the learning and newness of everything.

Back again!

Was reading some diaries and a have realised theres very little talk of saving going on here, probably because there is not enough saving going on!!!.

However there are things ticking along in the background......

My xmas 1p a day challenge is way ahead and I only have about another £100 to go. which is good as I intend to start buying bits and pieces as I see them. Not that xmas is a big deal in our house and we have very little family to buy for. But i do like to give the DC a few nice things.

My EF is nearing the target of £3000 at £2800. that would be there alreay but I have dipped into it a few times.

The envelope stuffing challenge is a bit behind, again I have dipped into a couple of the envelopes and had to repay them. This is real cash. i have decided is if i do this challenge again I will do it virtually and maybe just split it into 52 payments of £26.50 ~ but that does take the fun away!

My £1 a day fund got seriously raided several times and is way below where it should be after a fabuluous start. its £170 and should be £256 oops! not losing sleep over this one, just popping a few pounds across when i can.

The car fund is where it should be, lots has come out, but thats the insurance and Tax. MOT and service will wipe the rest and so will continue rebuilding. It has been wonderful to have this money ready. Why I never set it aside before I really dont know. It like the xmas fund, its so good to have it gently building in the background waiting for the time its needed.

The pension is not anywhere near my hopes for the year I had (rather unrealistically) hoped to add £10,000, but its more like 2500 ~ so far earning this tax year will be well under £20000, so I can see why this isn't building as fast as I would like. But having no pension is worrying me!

As for MOP ~ DH over pays by a £240 a month and we were trying to add to this, we still do if we sell something, but that hasnt happened for a while. Will try and see if we can list a few things up. Its still got a long way to go at just under £57000 left

 

There thats my update, DH keeps his funds pretty seperate, so it is hard to know whats what exactly, I do feel we could be saving a fair bit more, but it is hard when not on the same page. We also have DS2 off to uni ~ he however, unlike his brother has got a good amount of funds behind him and has chosen very cheap accomodation! And intends to find tutoring work which would be amazing and help enormously.

Short version
Got to up north uni took over 2 more hours than it should! 
Bought packed lunch to save some pennies, but then bought coffee and snacks 🤔 (needed the. Coffee!) 
Left DS2 in new room half unpacked as he was rather overwhelmed! 
Very annoyed, I stupidly bought a double duvet instead of a single, so folded it over for tonight, but need to buy another tomorrow! I was sure I checked!

i suspect you right BaronDale, we deinelty are soften softies down here in Hampshire. I am going to get him a thick blanket as well!!

So the child has been dropped off. His accodomation is very basic. It is actaully just just mine was (30 years ago!!!!!!😁) I so didnt think it was too bad, but I guess it would be outdated if it was the same as when i went.!!! He did choose the cheapest option bless him, so its shared bathrooms and hopefully the maintence loan will cover the accomodation ~ just! He was rather overwhelmed and I stayed up there to break the journey up and sorted out some shopping and stuff and left him too it!!😢 Waiting rather anxiously to see how his day has been 🤞

Its very odd at home now. DS1 is visiting GF for a few days and DD hasnt come out of her room today, so very quiet all round!

Moneys got spent up north on food bits for the next couple of days, then he's on his own being coeliac does mean he has higher costs unfortunately, so we got extra supplies of cake and biscuits!

ALso had a cheeky kebab ~ something I never do and it was so good! And then a meal deal and mor petrol on the way home. I now need to have a quiet week money wise as the credit card has crept up again, mostly petrol and the hotel

The sun is shining and the sky is blue

Having understanding patients that dont mind when I cancel them at the last minute ~ phew!

I beautiful pink roses I bought to cheer me up after dropping DS2 off at uni. I don't usually buy flowers, but these are a lovely treat.

Ive done my greatfuls first because life it rather stressfull just now! So I need to take stock and consider what is good and remember, that all is well right now. And right now, is really all that matters

Had the dentist yesterday and have booked in to see another dentist at the same practice next week to look at a tooth that has an infection. It's been there for at least a couple of years and needs sorting out! 
Hopefully a root filling through a crown! But its expensive and even more so if the crown cracks during the procedure. So looking at minimum of £600, and maybe up to £1500 if its a new crown as well. This is why I have been putting it off!!!
Today DS1 has the dentist, it's filling and he has sedation so I have to take and collect him. Then, I think i have a few afternoon! Woohoo! 
Im going to try and take a few bags to charity shops which are near the dentist and have a mooch at the same time. 
I also need to do my banking and some healing work. 

Update dentist rang and cancelled, so I now have a free day, woohoo!!!
