This week has been a bit carp on the money front I have gone slightly overdrawn on my main bank acc. boo!
Should be recified as soon as zettle pays in this weeks money, might even be today. I do have a free overdraft facility, but hate dipping into it.
Will have less to 'play with' as in nothing!! this week. Boo! This is due to DH's birthday present and also not having a very busy week at work. Had to postphone 3 client till next week due to DD issues yesterday. Hoo hum.
Need to look again at figures and see if there is anything else I can do.
And i need to pay in the cash into the P/O.
DH has agreed to setting up an account to pop regular money into as the uni fund. So thats good just need to make sures he follows through!

Did catch a £9 PA study though last night which was good plus a 96p bonus on it, and the study part paid up immediatly need to cash that out and pop into the tax fund! nesrly funded the nest £365, so that is a bit of good news.

Over the next week I need to:

Make a start on website for busniess 2
Finish making items intended to start selling on etsy (business 3)
    Do accounts for business 1
Clean greenhouse out and make ready for sowing tomatoes and a few other bits (see what seeds I have left over!!)

    have a good day

Not sure what interest you're getting but V have their current account with linked savings, can set up various pots, paying 2%.

If you've still got the NW account open up their digital saver as that's currently paying 6%. You can open up a RBS current account and their digital to get another 6% account. Both have a max of £150pm pay in limit.

Opening a FD current, without switching gives £20 free after 3m, and you can open their 1 year regular saver paying 6% payable on maturity but could be a way of saving for the next tax bill.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.

    Time for Fridays roundup!
Struggled this week, going overdrawn is annoying, need to manage things much better to avoid this, even though i have set up a free overdraft. Its not good.

    The Tax pot £1095.00  (£365 + 365 + 356)     Yey!!! (£1960.00 paid or ready to pay of £2700)
The EF pot is now split as i have opened a saver account and can only add
    £150 a month, but it is 6% so worth doing.  £150 and also £407.41   = £557.41 / £2000
    Xmas 1p challenge pot,  £215 / £667.00
    Car maintenance fund pot £0 / £1000
    Holiday pot £0 / £1000
S&S ISA I have set up an ISA added £35 this week
    Pension pot added 0
    Health for me Dentist/ Opticians: £10/ £20
Things for children/ uni fund: 0.00 ~ STILL need to talk to DH about this one

Only £730 to save until the tax pot owed is done and then I can continue to pop money across for the on going tax fund.

    Have a great day

Hi Flowers, I have just read your postings, It is hard to get my head around the figures, clear cut outgoings would be a start such as rent and tax etc. you could list the outgoings on a monthly or weekly basis then put the amount you receive through work on a monthly basis or weekly basis. Otherwise I cannot see what is really going on, I know it changes but put the figures on a week to week or month to month basis could you not? Also it looks like you are really chipping away at some of the pots big well done to you. Good luck on your pots.

Hi Hotdog2020, thank you for your post. DH and I keep our money in seperate accounts and DH pretty much pays for all the house and bills because his wage is much much more than mine. My bit pays for the childrens things, the extras bits, my car, presents, xmas etc.
Ive never actually had a budget before this year, so its still in early days and its only for my bit as DH is not so keen, (but that is work in progress and im getting there) I will sit down again and take another look at all the ins and outs.

My pay varies so much from week to weekit does make it very tricky, but i guess that just shows more than ever a budget is needed!!

gosh PA landed me a nice £15.00 study just when I had an hour to kill yesterday so that was good and this morning its hit my account. So can pop across £24.00 today plus £11.00 from eariler in the week so Im adding this to the tax pot fund. Will also add 20% of takings for this week.
My working work is ususally mon to weds and then thursday and friday the money drips into my account.
Hoping to go out with DD today x

How about budgeting for your lowest income, anything over and above gets split between pots.

Thank you @MovingForwards, yes I think you are right, but unfortunately it is now appearing that theres quite a few weeks which dont meet the threshold of whats coming in over whats going out. Im going to sit down again over the weekend and take another look.
I cant actively increase my work very much due to having DD at home and not in school. But saying that, when new clinet rings un I do fit them in.
