Tax payment £365 came out of my account this morning, another 5 months to go!

I had a PA payment to cash yesterday for £14.47 and another this morning for £22.32 so thats gone straight across to the tax pot.

Hoping the switch money will soon land. I have next months £365 ready to go and the swutch money will ensure the third months money is there.

Now need to look at making a budget so I can save more on a weekly basis. The last few days have been rather heavy spends

hi, great start and i did the same last year and my stress levels have certainly gone down.
you mentioned you were using starling, last year i found chase which is paying 3% on their savings accounts and you can have upto 10, they also have roundup at 5% although this is small it does add a little to the pot.

thanks  geordiejon, Your right the starling account is rubbish for its interest, I only have a sall amount in there waiting to be moved across to my pension when the next small amount is ready!

I will take a look at the chase account, thanks

Nat west switch incentive came through today, yey!!!
Also moved the £1200 back into DHs account (i kept £50 to pay towards the petrol for taking DS2 to Sheffield uni look around, so thats a bonus!!!)
So I have whipped that out of the account and popped into the tax account pot

hmmm, reality has set in :# . i know its been hard to save lately and for some reason have been very reluctant to draw up exactly what all my expenses are. When ive tried to do this before Ive always started with whats coming in. Which is really hard because it varies so much each week. I work very part time. Mostly beacuse my DD is not able to be in school so i need to be around for her as much as possible.
So my list of weekly and then monlthy expenses is much longer and bigger than I anticipated!!!!
I am disappointed in a way because there is hardly any wriggle room for squirreling away extra money, in fact there pretty much a deficit most weeks.
    oops

But im also partly relieved to actually see on paper where it is all going! Mostly to the DC!!
I have now decided to remove and divert a few things:
DH is going to take on amz*son prime and do it annually, I have stopped my veg box and will try and go to the local grocers and this will go on the food account, not my personal one.
We also do an ethical order for things likle oat milk and faith innature shampoo and eco laundry stuff as its much cheaper to buy it in bulk, but this has been coming out of my personal account to, so that is going to change.
Small bits but it will all help

Added to this I need to make my self employed work busier on the day im in clinic, i cant really 'up' the other days, but clinic day has dropped off over the last few months. So need to do a bit of marketing/ sales to get a couple more clients a week and that really will make a huge difference.

Feeling a little brighter today. Had a good week for work and have banked the money.
Also had a few PA payments this week 11.00, 9.75 and 12.75 which have gone straight to the tax pot.

A new client for my second start up business paid today and although I have earmarked all this money to go into my pension, this particular time Ive added it to the tax pot.
I ve also paid the business rent and its less this month, thats one benefit of having less clients in February! planning to put the extra into a couple of diffent pots. I really need to find a planner/ budget / pot plan that will work for me.
I dont like excela and I need more than just a piece of paper!!

    its friday!! yippee!
Lots in pots Friday round up!!
    The Tax pot £961.62  (£365 + 365 + 231.62)       So thats (£1826.62 paid or ready to pay of £2700)
The EF pot is now split as i have opened a saver account and can only add 150 a month, but it is 6% so worth doing. I also had a bit of a spend on clothes for DS1 who desperately needed them so its £150 and also £485.42   = 635.42 / £2000
    Xmas 1p challenge pot,  £200 / £667.00
    Car maintenance fund pot £0 / £1000
    Holiday pot £0 / £1000
S&S ISA I have set up an ISA added £35 this week
    Pension pot added £125.00
Health for me Dentist/ Opticians: £10
Things for children/ uni fund: 0.00 ~ STILL need to talk to DH about this one

Some of these are still 0, partly beacuse Im still looking for the best place to keep these pots. I opened a starling account a few months ago but the interest rate is pants. So need to look around some more!!

    Have a great day
