Sorry to hear about the puddle, at least DF is on the case!
Your kitchen sounds like a dream 😍

Is there any correlation with the pool and external weather being colder, or aqua times being earlier so not having the chance to warm up?

Hope things ease up for you and the nicer weather is here soon.

  • Thanks Doris, flowers, thriftylynny & MF 😊 Had backache in the night but has eased off again today.

It was a beautiful sunny morning but has turned wet and windy again by lunch time. Trip to b n q with DF for edging strip £11.98.

Called at aldee on the way home & spent £33.74 including 2 bottles of bleach and bathroom spray cleaner.

DF fitted the edging strip on the kitchen floor & sealed the upvc door (before the rain started) so hopefully no more water will get in.

Just making a big pan of chicken, red pepper and chickpea curry. Leftovers will be frozen. Also got cubed beef & swede & parsnips to make stew in my slow cooker tomorrow with leftover carrots & an onion from store cupboard.

It’s supposed to be warmer by the weekend but feels like winter again today. May be going to my sisters next weekend on east coast 😊

Don't forget to bring sticks of rock back for us 😄

DF is a darling and the tiny kitchen bits will be completed soon.

The nice weather has to appear as we can't wait to hear what you both get up to while creating an outside paradise.

  • I think the majority of the garden will have to wait until next year MF when my bonds mature in Feb 25.  Should have about 4.5k interest. I plan to put 1k into an instant access emergency fund. 1k into DS & gf wedding pot (they are now engaged but no date mentioned yet) and then 2k for the garden including a new fence (12 fence panels at a guess). £500 + will go into diy pot.

Great plans for the interest 👍🏻 - congratulations on DS & gf lovely engagement news 🥰 your estimate on the fencing sounds about right - we paid just under £900 for 6 x panels and new concrete bases/posts last year.

Mortgage freedom January 2024 - paid off 7 years early by making overpayments where we could.

  • Chopped more overgrown shrubs in the garden yesterday with DF. Minimal bending for me, I stood and chopped & dropped into green bin. Washing dried on the line. Stew in slow cooker & 3 portions into the freezer.

Aquafit this morning & much better session. Called at post office and sent a birthday card to friend (card & stamp from stash). Also bought & sent a card to nephew who has passed his driving test. Paid from Xmas/birthday etc pot.

Got a cooked hot chicken and a box of hot chunky chips from asd@. Shared them with DF & a bit more chopping in the garden as the green bin was emptied this morning. Full again now 😆 Washing out on the line & hand washed swimsuit, almost dry. Popped down to friends for a cuppa & chat. Tonight I am cooking a Cajun chicken tray bake with courgette, peppers, mushrooms, onions and butternut squash.

No plans for the weekend. Hoping to just chill and relax 😊

I love it when the green bins are emptied, I have filled one this morning, but we pay for 2, which is just was well as we have a big garden as well a 3 compost heaps, we have no trouble filling them all! I hope you have a nice chilled weekend.
