Escape to the country & living off savings

Thanks SQS, Baron_Dale, thriftylynny & MF. I am feeling much better now 😊
Just had a gentle day yesterday. Covid test was negative. PJ’s and dressing gown washed & dried outside on the line. Speed mopped the downstairs wooden floors & swished the dust magnet round. Need to freshen up the sofa throws but the forecast is for rain later so I will wait for a dry day.Friend decided to pop in for a cuppa despite my just getting over the lurgy. Was nice to see her. I had offered to take her out for lunch on Wednesday as a birthday present & we had planned to go to the local pub for midweek carvery but her older sister has stepped in and it looks like we will now be going into town instead. Feeling a bit miffed as I was looking forward to carvery (friends choice), but her sister has offered to drive so I will go with the flow. Not sure what the price will be where we are going, local carvery special with pud would have been £8.99 each paid from birthdays pot. I am not paying for her sister 😬I have cancelled aquafit today as I don’t feel up to it. I will be returning on Friday, should be feeling well enough by then.Just waiting for the wednesday MSE email to see what the best savings accounts are. Have had a look online. Then I may need to go into branch to sort out the withdrawal of my 1yr bond which is maturing. Invited DF to come with me on the bus as I haven’t seen him since last week due to lurgy & I will treat us to fish and chips at the market cafe 😋0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

It is annoying when you have a plan in your head and it is supplanted, hopefully the new meal plan won't be too expensive.
Pleased to hear you're feeling better1 -
Thanks Time2count. Unfortunately plans have been changed again and I have been talked into driving into the city 😳 Last time I tried to navigate my way round I went the wrong way and straight past where I should have turned off 🫣 Since then I have caught the bus!Very wet & grey day. Heating has been on. All food from stores. 2 egg & cheese omelette for breakfast, jacket potato with chilli for lunch & chicken fajita wrap for dinner. Have been quite hungry today, probably making up for the last few days.Credit card bill has been generated and paid in full from savings pots. Gas & electric bill has arrived online £149.67. Hope the journey is a bit easier this time and the meal is up to your expectations.
Spends and pots are looking good.
Sorry about the weather, it's come from up here.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1 -
Thanks MF the weather was good today. Bit of sun & no wind. Had a good day. 😊 Snow forecast for tomorrow 😳
My friends sister did drive in the end & lunch was very nice. I had steak & chips, peas & onion rings with peppercorn sauce. My friend had lasagne, chips, garlic bread and salad and we shared a bottle of wine. Total £27.26. Her sister paid for her own meal.
We had a wander round the shops but I didn’t buy anything. Arrived home to find my car tax bill on the mat. 🙄 12 months is £150 and will be paid from the annual bills pot.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Thanks SQS and thriftylynny 😊
We have had lots of snow until lunchtime. Then it stopped so I popped into see DF. I left my heating on at 16* so it was still warm when I got back & didn’t take long to get back to a comfortable 18* We have had rain since 4pm so the snow has gone.I made a chilli meatball pasta bake for dinner. 2 portions left for the freezer. I have a tin of peaches & am going to warm & mash half and have them with some squirty cream 😋 I will have the rest of the peaches with some porridge in the morning. If the weather stays ok I will go to aquafit then call off at asda for a hot roast chicken. I have £1 off to use in my app cash pot.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗
