Escape to the country & living off savings

The wind is howling round the house. There have been several loud bangs in the night but at least the dogs have been quiet & it’s too dark to see out in the garden at the moment. Hopefully just wheelie bins blowing over. The cars parked out the front appear to be ok from what I can see from my bedroom window with the light from the nearby street light. Hope everyone else is safe and well.Should be a NSD today. Niece’s baby due this afternoon. I am going to do some batch cooking & cook up all remaining veggies for the freezer. Leftover beef will be frozen in gravy. Leftover chicken & chickpea curry also frozen. Tonight’s tea will be sausages, probably with roast Mediterranean veg & use up skin-on fries in the freezer. I also have enough butternut squash leftover to make some soup.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Arranged c section did not go ahead yesterday. 😕 Niece has to return to the hospital today so 🤞my great nephew will be here later today.
DS & gf and 2 dogs have now gone back home. The house seems very quiet. I swept and mopped all downstairs wooden floors & sorted all bedding ready for washing. It was too windy yesterday to hang it out. The wind has also blown over the tall plastic storage shed left by previous owners which has garden tools & hose inside. DF is going to come down today now that the wind has dropped to see if it can be salvaged.Roasted lots of Mediterranean veggies & froze leftovers. Today I am making butternut squash soup in my slow cooker. Fridge is almost empty, just half a cucumber, milk, jelly, cheddar cheese & apples. I will have a tuna & cheese jacket potato for lunch with diced cucumber and an apple for dessert. Dinner will be home made chicken & chickpea curry with broccoli and cauliflower from the freezer. All gifts are wrapped. Clothes are ready to pack. Just waiting for great nephew to arrive so we can visit him & will then be off to my sisters.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

How many nights will you and DF be staying with your sister?Have a safe journey - let’s hope this yucky weather gives over eh? My poor mom n dad have been huddled under lap robes since they got here. I guess UK in December is below par compared to sunny Tennessee haha!
I’ve taken pity on them and have had the heating on 24/7 but they are still chilly and I’m BOILING bleurgh.Ooh just saw about the gluten free tiger bread! Was it nice? I didn’t know you were coeliac apologies I think I’m a bad diary reader!!EDIT - sorry to hear about delay for your niece hope all goes smoothly today 👶🏻🍼Lancashire

Not sure how many nights as it depends when nieces baby is born. Latest we will go is Christmas Eve.Sorry to hear your parents are struggling with uk temperatures 🥶 It’s a good job it’s “mild” at the moment 😆
Its DS’s girlfriend that is gluten free. I bought gf warb tons tiger bread and it was lovely. Also got gf sausages, fish fingers, stuffing, pigs in blankets, wraps, pasta. She brought with her gf gravy granuals, gf chocolate log & gf brioche rolls. I also got bacon, eggs, roast chicken, gammon, roast beef & had in tuna & cheese. So we had lots of lovely meals. I also made cheese sauce with cream & grated cheese so no flour. I just try to be lower carb due to my diabetes but I have eaten loads of bread this week so I do feel a bit bloated. I’ve mostly managed to stay away from chocolate 😇 😆0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗
