That is amazing and the thing that will enable you to keep enjoying your fabulous new life (I can't find the clapping emoji or I would use it)
    Finances looking good.
    Hurrah for PD recovery

  • Thank you dia

A very sedated puppy dog had her stitches out this morning and has been given the all clear by the vets. She no longer has to wear her medical recovery suit & once the sedatives have worn off she can go back to normal ☺️ She’s not going to be back to sleeping upstairs tonight as she is still wobbly on her legs but is looking a bit brighter tonight. After discussion with DS & his gf I will be on my way home in the morning. DS’s gf is off work this week so will be around to keep a bit of an eye on her.

They are cooking a curry meal for tonight instead of taking me out to dinner as I told them to save their money instead.

One load of washing dried on
the line so I have clean clothes to take home as the forecast is for rain from Wednesday onwards. At least it should be dry on the 5 hour drive home.

I have arranged to go to the cinema with DF later in the week and have booked aquafit for Friday. 😊

Home safely. Under 5 hours with one stop. No roads closed today! Puppy dog was back to her normal naughty self 😆 sad to leave her behind but so happy she has recovered so well.

Called at asd@ on the way home & got a microwave red Thai chicken curry for tea, yellow stickered from £3 to £1.80. Won £1 on spin the wheel on the app so will use that to reduce the cost of a hot roast chicken on Friday. DF took my milk out of the freezer yesterday so it was defrosted for a cuppa.

The temperature in my house was only 12 degrees so the heating has been on. I’ve set the thermostat to 17 and am now laid on the sofa under a throw

    Forgot to add
Petrol to fill tank £33.90 (was 1/4 tank still in from coming down)

    Remaining in current account £80.18

12 degrees brrr! Then again no point on heating an empty space!!

Glad you had an uneventful journey - hope you warm up soon!

We have had the GCH on since Friday gone - but only for an hour in morning & at lunchtime.

Evenings we use our multi burner exclusively and have electric underblanket on the bed (toasty!) highly recommend one - have seen them at high street discounters quite cheap depending on the size you are after.

We’ve also got leccy throws on the sofa - cost pennies to run but make a very big difference.

ps I gotta start using the asd@ app again - clearly am missing out on alot!!

  • Thanks SQS when I left, over 2 weeks ago, we were just going into a warm spell. I didn’t think about setting the heating to come on. It’s been frosty & down to 2 degrees here but is meant to “warm up” when the rain arrives tomorrow.

Hopefully with the heating on for part of the day today and the dehumidifier on taking the damp out of the air the heating can go off until the end of the month!

Have 1/4 tank petrol left so hoping that will last to end of October. Will be going to cinema £11.98 for 2. DF is paying for meal probably weather spoons. Going to see my friend on Friday for a cuppa. So the remainder of my bank credit will probably be spent on grocery shopping.

😆 I wish that were true SQS. It’s freezing here today 🥶

My portable thermostat tells me its 14 degrees this morning. I am warm in bed & have my fleecy long pjs on! I think 35 years of living down south has turned me into a southern softy! We didn’t have the heating on at DS’s and I slept in my Tshirt & shorts summer pjs. when I lived down south we could usually manage without heating until end of October.

Going to have a shower soon. I have just removed my bath towel from the towel rail in the bathroom and shut the bathroom door & put the heating on. Hopefully 10-15 minutes will be enough to take the chill off. Then I will shower, have breakfast, then I am going shopping.

  • Shopping today at aldee £37.35. Bought loads of fruit & veg, peach squash, stew beef & chicken fillets & frozen white fish. Tin of mackerel & tuna, tin chickpeas, curry sauce, no added sugar jelly’s, 4 pints of milk, cheese, ham, loo rolls and box of tissues, ground black pepper & no added sugar bread. Box of mushroom cup a soups.

Had a ham & watercress sandwich plus curried parsnip soup (from freezer) for lunch. Then out to cinema with DF. One load of washing dried on the line by the time we got back. Stew from the freezer for dinner with previously cooked & frozen broccoli and cauliflower and green beans.

Tomorrow & over the weekend I am going to do some batch cooking. Chicken curry with peppers, onions & tin of chickpeas. I will steam the whole broccoli and cauliflower & freeze. Fish stew. Beef stew. DF gifted me 4 x butternut squash from his allotment so I will roast some with peppers, courgettes, mushrooms and onions and Cajun chicken. I will also make some butternut squash soup & some swede and carrot mash. I still have wheat shreds cereal left & have porridge if I want something warm for breakfast. Plus a couple of eggs left. Will buy a hot roast chicken on Friday after aqua fit. Then I should have enough left for milk & fruit next week before I pay myself again at the end of the month

It’s pouring with rain but not cold. Portable thermostat says it’s 17 degrees and I have a throw over my legs so the heating is off.
