Enjoyed brunch yesterday, we went to Mr T as friend needed a birthday cake. She was also looking after her grandson so we all had brunch in the cafe and children meal was free

I got a tube of face cream & used a £3 club card voucher sent to me ages ago so that was free.

Today I have been to asd@ to return a big river order. I’ve never sent anything back but it seems to have been fairly painless. Just kept the beige handbag for my friends wedding £16.65. Also ordered shoes from clark outlet same cream / beige colour leather £20 and navy leather £36 with free delivery. Lovely shoes but was glad I followed online advice and went up half a size.

Have been for a walk now it has cooled down a bit just posted my bowel cancer screening test (sorry if tmi) just a routine test

I have my metal colander ready for viewing the eclipse later. 🤣 At least I can project it onto the ground and see it on the floor through the holes. Don’t look through it at the sun! I remember seeing the full eclipse in 1999 when I lived down south. We had the glasses then which were on sale everywhere and free in the newspaper but I haven’t seen any onsale this time

Just catching up. Been away , down at my Daughters, then we went on holiday from hers, travelled back up North on the train.

I too have had notification that my bowel screening test is on it's way, doesn't seem two minutes since I did the last one

Thanks sheila 😊 sounds like you have had a great time. I am very relieved and feel lucky about how my recovery has been so far 🤞The bowel screening is so simple and easy to pop back in the post & hopefully all clear.

I went out eclipse watching last night 🌒It got darker around 7pm so I went into the back garden with my metal colander and piece of white paper, stood with my back to the sun and held out the colander and there were crescents reflected on the paper 🌙☺️ My neighbours were out too with their boy and they had made a cereal box & tin foil reflector which they let me have a go & it worked really well

Severe high temperature warning here today 35 degrees 🥵 so I am not intending on venturing out far. I am supposed to be going to my friends but would probably have to drive if I can get the aircon cool before I get in the car. Hope you all stay safe in the heat. No plans here until Monday when I am out with niece and little lad 🥰

Have just looked at the weather forecast for my friends wedding next week in Whitby and it’s 15’ 😳 I think I might need a jacket!!

i've done the screenings before SYA and at 55 I was selected to have a screening at the hospital where they use a camera to view your lower bowel. My friend got invite but declined. My Dad passed away at 53 with bowel cancer so I accepted.

33c here today, very oppressive

Sheila I am sorry to hear about your Dad ❤️ it is good we get offered all these screenings these days.

Hotness continues here today but not as bad as yesterday. 29 degrees and some rain from 2pm. I need to go to shopping as I am almost out of food. Just a few things needed to last until next week. Mostly salad, fruit, milk, bread, tissues, peach squash, courgettes. I may just pop to asd@ this afternoon as it’s nearer. My niece and little lad are popping over this morning for a visit. 🥰 I am getting bread out of the freezer and have a pack of ham, beef or tin of tuna left for a sandwich.

I will always take whatever screenings I am offered. So many people affected by cancer

Had a lovely morning with niece and little lad mostly playing indoors with the fan on. 29 degrees. Then popped to asd@ for basics £20.65. Also took some chicken fillets out of the freezer last night into the fridge to defrost for tonight.

Today is thankful a much cooler morning & cloudy. Max temp forecast 23 is 6 degrees cooler. Did anyone else get the fire warning government alerts on their phone. Frightened the life out of me 😱 No rain so far despite yesterday’s forecast. Washing is on. All the windows are open and I have cleaned the bathroom. Once washing is hung out I am going for a walk.

I have had a message from mse energy club that my cashback has been paid from my last switch, so I’m waiting for it to appear in my account

Am having a lazy morning and am laid in bed with windows open it’s much cooler today and I can hear the birds and the church bells.

Had a busy but steady day yesterday. Washing dried on the line. Went for a walk round the edge of the village 45 minutes. The uphill part was harder but only because I’ve been walking on the flat paths for ages now. Had some ham and salad for lunch and a rest 😴 then took out a small bucket and sponge and wiped the bird poop off my car before it starts lifting the paint off! Nothing too strenuous just some gentle stretching.

Pottered around tidying, emptied and reloaded dishwasher and put clean washing away. Did my first bit of batch cooking. Only a small pack of chicken with peppers, courgettes and onions and a handful of chopped tomatoes. I had half last night with stir fry sauce & soy and half a pack of broccoli and cauliflower rice. The rest will be eaten today with some fajita spice mix plus some grated cheese & chopped fresh tomatoes.

Despite all that I feel a bit weepy today. I think everything is starting to sink in, when it’s quiet and I’m alone with my thoughts. I may go to the garden of remembrance this morning and just sit and relax for a while in the peace
