  • My gas & electric bill this month is £49.70. I had already put £100 this month into the pot so remaining once this bill is paid is £335.

The tariff has reduced from 1 July

    Electric
    unit rate 49.917p/kWh now 29.354p/kWh
    standing charge 59.317p/day - same

    Gas
    unit rate 12.577p/kWh now 7.462p/kWh
    Standing charge 32.704p/day - same

Not sure how this compares to others. Should probably do a comparison

Have mostly been pottering around today. Cut up a lamb steak with butternut squash, onions and a yellow pepper into the slow cooker this morning with rogan josh curry sauce. DF brought me lettuce, courgettes and green beans this afternoon from his allotment.

Went to local hairdresser this afternoon and got a haircut and blow dry £25. Lamb & butternut squash curry for tea with cauliflower. 😋 2 portions left for the freezer.

Lamb & butternut squash curry!! Belly rumbling with the yummy sound of that!

Less than £50 for a month of energy is very good even in the summer months - we do that here but mainly cos of the solar panels. Really irksome that the standing charge represents about 50% of the bill!

    are you going aquafit tomorrow?

Perhaps look up K3t0 recipes, see what options there are for different homemade fruit puddings. You'll be buying another freezer soon to store the goodies from DF.
Are you happy with your haircut?

Really pleased with my haircut thanks for asking MF. It’s now a short bob and much neater & should be quicker and easier to wash and dry. She cut nearly 2 inches off the length, I hadn’t realised it had got so long. It’s the same hairdresser who used to cut my hair 35 years ago 😆 so we had a long chat with lots to catch up on.

Yes I have been to aquafit @SuzeQStan and have booked again for next week. Still painful in my shoulder and jelly legs 😆

Called off at A5DA on my way home and bought a cooked chicken and a pack of Pepsi max.  Chicken salad for lunch.

Remaining in current account £0.78p until I pay myself on Monday

Just walking down the village to my friends house for cuppa and chat 😁

Thanks @SuzeQStan hope you have a lovely weekend too. ☺️

No plans for the weekend just hoping for a dry spell so I can get my nieces shark outside and clean out my car. Also need to finish sanding the hallway

You are doing great with energy use.
I love how you are reconnecting with childhood friends in the new area.
I find going off piste during the day is easier as I can digest the off piste food better earlier?
Hope you are enjoying your weekend

Sorry, have checked Gas and electric and £49.70 was only a part month for July 1 - 25th. My tariff went down on 1 July so I provided an actual meter reading from 24 - 29 June and had already paid £13.76.   So total £63.46 for 24 June to 25 July.

It rained this morning but then turned into a lovely afternoon. I washed my towels and swim suit and they dried outside on the line. Also managed to hoover the rest of the back of my car. Had to stop as my back was starting to twinge. Just the front now to hoover and then I will give it a good wipe down inside.

Had a lovely walk around the village this afternoon in the sun for 45 minutes including up hill to the church I got married in. Walked past the farmhouse of an old friend who sadly passed away before I moved. It’s up for sale which brought a lump to my throat 😢 Lots of lovely childhood memories. I had kept in touch and was so glad I saw her at Christmas.

That’s lovely SYA - a real blessing to have seen your friend at Christmas.

Sounds like it was a lovely walk down memory lane for you today -I was watching a program on this week about ‘forest bathing’ the therapeutic value of walking in nature.  and then another segment on ‘grounding’ (walking barefoot outdoors)

Forest bathing is right up my alley - love walking in nature but ‘grounding’ is a literal step too far as I know what dogs and other lovely creatures do in the grass haha 💩
