....Well, what's happened to decent courtesy? This is typical of today's narrow minded, selfish society!

Who sets the rules for this website? Why should someone not say "thanks" for a usefull posting???

Who gives a **** if it uses up disk space??

Get real and have some manners!

    Bye!
There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more...

anyone that manages performance of a web site has a keen interest in disk space usage. There is lots of stuff you can read on it - try a google search... drop me a PM if you cant find anything and I'll help out.

    >>Get real and have some manners!

sorry you've totally missed the point - sorry if this upset you.

my vent had nothing at all to do with manners - I could not agree more with politeness being free.

my point was based purely on practical grounds - please read the original message -

    to recap:

    1) These messages will undoubtedly take up disk space, and this may eventually effect the chat rooms performance.

    2) Also, it renders the 'last updated' functionality pretty much redundant, when last updated is a comment to say “thanks for this”.

God I've heard all this before ie
    please read my original message

    to recap

Now where have I heard this before ::)

I know god I must be DIM, :P

But Thank You for reminding me ;)

I think it's nice to have positive responses to people's threads. I tend to say thankyou on the freebies board once the freebie has actually arrived, rather than when I send off for it. This lets others know that the thing does actually turn up.

As far as disk space goes, I think it's more important to be concerned about other people's feelings. Couldn't give a toss about disk space to be honest, but thanks for bringing it to our attention. ;)
