    2028.

Although managed migration has nominally started everywhere I think they are still only working in selected areas.

    From December stakeholder meeting:

Q:When likely to expand out of current discovery areas

A: Might run out of TC only claimants
in very small areas soon so might spread out a bit further afield in same LAs eg cornwall
and northumberland - maybe Feb/March expand further possibly

We have begun to issue Migration Notices to tax credit claimants in St. Austell and Newquay from 13 February and Camborne, Redruth, Hayle, North Cornwall, South East Cornwall, St. Ives and the Isle of Scilly from 20 February.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

Thanks, that's interesting. I know a few other people round here still on tax credits like me, but I'm the first to get the MM notice letter.

Thanks for the info.  I'm expecting it to pick up pace before long.

I get the impression they want to prioritise getting everyone of Tax Credits as soon as possible so as to stop HMRC being involved (other than for Child Benefit).

Yes, I believe they're aiming to move all TC only claimants during the upcoming tax year. They want to end HMRC involvement by March 2025 at the latest.

Free school meal transitional entitlement was recently extended to March 2025 too.

Don't get me started on free school meals! My kids have never been eligible for them, and I don't think will be on UC. But people who went on to UC earlier are still receiving them despite the eligibility threshold being reduced massively?

Yeah, my friend gets them even though he's on a good salary because he was out of work for a week a few years back.

He'll get them until about 2030 now.

When you say people on tax credits only in tax year 2023/24 does this include people on contribution based ESA? Trying to figure out when it might happen for us, we also claim child benefit

    thanks

No, not for you, as advised on your other thread here. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6439443/migration-to-uc-can-someone-look-at-my-figures-please#latest contributions based/New style ESA are not part of UC. Your ESA will be deducted in full from any UC entitlement.
