Today I worked like a worker bee. I have procrastinated on a project for months and am now making a frantic attempt to pull something out of my bahookie to show my manager next week.
I knew it would catch up with me eventually and I blame myself for creating this stress. To be honest, I felt overwhelmed with the project and unsure of where to start, and I don't have the knowledge to do it properly. I have also been in a childish huff about being asked to take on the project (I was told a while back that my job role would not be upgraded to match other team roles because I didn't "lead" on projects and others do. I am in a "supporting" role). I am most definitely "leading" and not "supporting" this project which irks me.
Anyway, confession over - I shouldn't have ignored it. I'll just have to get on with it now and hope what I present to manager next week is enough and deal with any consequences.
Grateful today for pulling together something for manager, for a dry day meaning I could walk off some stress, and for Mum's calming advice.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸7 -
Morning turtles,
I’m still on NSD 1. Circuits class done at lunchtime yesterday and after work I made a pasta sauce with bits lurking in the fridge so that will stretch to a few meals. Spent a happy evening cooking and then filing and painting my nails which I haven’t felt like doing for a couple of weeks and watching trashy programmes that I don’t watch when bf is here. Will try for an NSD today as I’m sure once I’ve finished work I won’t be doing much, although I may need to buy a nice coffee from the canteen at work (since I was ill I can’t stomach the nasty free stuff anymore!)
Grateful for cheap dinners, for the satisfaction of having nice nails, for not needing much to be happy.Student loan £5655

Yesterday was another busy day for me. Persevering with several tasks which unfortunately mean some areas look worse than when I started and some things are being neglected (and I haven't managed an NSD yet). Progress is progress, mostly - one thing I sorted needs revisiting.
Grateful for sleep, resting as much as possible, watching a film when I hit a wall yesterday.6 -
Afternoon Everyone
I'm apologising in advance as I don't think I'll be able to post as often as I should this month. I had surgery on Monday and I've been very tired and in a lot of pain ever since. I feel a lot better today as I phoned the breast care nurse and she told me to remove a bandage of some sort that was far too tight and I was in much pain whenever I stood up, walked or lay down. Still don't know what the purpose of it was. Much to her surprise I was also released from hospital without any pain relief and told just to take paracetamol. She's now arranged for my GP to give me a prescription for something a lot stronger. I don't really know what that was all about as up until now everyone from the receptionists upwards have been fantastic.
So my focus this month is getting better and moving on whatever it takes. We were supposed to be going on holiday for a month on Saturday but obviously that's not going to happen. We're hoping we might manage the last two weeks if all goes well. I've just had a small Greek salad for lunch. It's the first proper meal I've had since Saturday. I've just been eating a sandwich when I felt like eating anything at all which wasn't often.
Anyway, onwards and upwards. xxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.10 -

@Toni'sfriend wishing you well in your recovery, take it easy and don't stress about posting on here! I hope you're still able to manage some of your holiday too.
Today was a spend day as I ordered some nail wraps. It's a cheap way of doing something small to lift my mood. So I've spent £22 for about 3 or 4 months' worth (deffo cheaper than getting your nails done professionally every few weeks, I dont think £22 would even get you a manicure round here!).
I meant to buy some ibs medication and voltarol but didn't pass by a chemist so that will have to wait until another day.
Busy day at work, I was meant to cycle in but didn't get up in time, I could've got a later train which would've allowed me to cycle but I needed to get in early. Have had some very honest chats with my manager this week which have left me feeling a bit better about things. I'm very glad it's Friday though!
Am off to a local horsey event this evening, likely to be absolutely freezing so I'll need to make sure I prep a hot water bottle beforehand!9 -
@Toni'sfriend - Hugs from America. Take it easy and don't overdo it till totally well. Then go off and have a great vacation. You definitely don't want to be traveling when you don't feel well - says someone who has come home in a wheelchair after three of my visits to England. And who had surgery on her knee the week after another trip. And who has been in two bus accidents and one car accident while traveling - it is not fun. These weren't the same trips as the wheelchair ones either!7

Gentle ((hugs)) for @Toni'sfriendStill 2 NSDs here, as I bought some OTC meds today. Didn't buy anything else though.Busy day at work, and really cold again (old unheated shop). Thank goodness for thermalsSold a biggish item on FB Marketplace, so that freed up a bit of space and made some extra money.Grateful today for spring flowers, despite the wintry weather, OH making dinner, and my trusty thermals7
