Morning all, thank you so much for your well wishes & hugs for DH.
Received a message this morning to say one of my work besties tested positive, so thought I'd do a test too. Snap! The headteacher says I can still work if I'm feeling ok, so I'll be going in. I wear a mask at work, in shops etc anyway, so currently wearing one in the house too, so DH doesn't get it as well. He tested negative this morning, hope it stays that way, especially if he has to go to Aberdeen 🤞🤞🤞
The sun is shining here on our island, hoping it shines for you all too xUse it up, wear it out

NSD 2 for me today - I was intending to buy some OTC meds before work this morning, but ended up not having time. I will try to go tomorrow. It is still really cold, and the BBC weather app is forecasting sleet and snow for next week. Really bored of winter now!Grateful for a warm house, much needed after being cold at work, OH doing dinner (jacket potato and salad, there was already quiche in the fridge) and leftover lemon meringue pie for pudding later!6

Today I worked like a worker bee. I have procrastinated on a project for months and am now making a frantic attempt to pull something out of my bahookie to show my manager next week.
I knew it would catch up with me eventually and I blame myself for creating this stress. To be honest, I felt overwhelmed with the project and unsure of where to start, and I don't have the knowledge to do it properly. I have also been in a childish huff about being asked to take on the project (I was told a while back that my job role would not be upgraded to match other team roles because I didn't "lead" on projects and others do. I am in a "supporting" role). I am most definitely "leading" and not "supporting" this project which irks me.
Anyway, confession over - I shouldn't have ignored it. I'll just have to get on with it now and hope what I present to manager next week is enough and deal with any consequences.
Grateful today for pulling together something for manager, for a dry day meaning I could walk off some stress, and for Mum's calming advice.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸8 -
Well done for shifting the energy on the project ldee
NSD #2 for me, IF I claim back several expenses. I need to prioritise this on Monday, and maybe pull details together over next couple of days before they get lost.
A good day with work, met more nice people, discovered a really nice cafe in heart of Westminster, that let me work there for ages over a couple of cups of tea! A catered for lunch at our event and they had tried to accommodated my dietary requirements, not quite to my taste but a couple of things that one of my household will really enjoy (and I wasn't that hungry anyway!). Leftover fruit juice - huge cartons - that nobody else wanted to cart around with them, but as this is one of our big expenses, fresh juice, I have lugged home with me! I think that will last us into start of next week. Fruit snack pot will also be possible to stretch to next couple of days.
Very glad for this as in changing roles and organisations, not only has payday moved back a week for me, it's also not been possible to get processed for Feb - so am currently about 2 weeks into a 6 week month. It's doable, just not very convenient!
My weekend begins tomorrow and I have intentions around sorting out some life admin paperwork tasks, which will definitely be a release once done, especially as they are needed for mortgage/purchase processes, along with a couple of work organisation tasks which would set me up for a better week next week. But we have various medical events happening tomorrow too, and I never know what is waiting at home on the caring front after a couple of days away. So, we'll see!

Hi turtles
Couldn't post yesterday as I was working super late at my second job. It was a long old day as I went to spinning at 7.15 and didnt get home until I think 9pm. Yesterday was a spend day as I sent £25 to one of my little investment pots. I almost caved and bought a coffee but resisted. Probably helped that I was too busy to take a trip down there! Shopping was also delivered, I must be the only person getting everything I ordered, I don't seem to be having any issues with shortages (although I don't want to jinx it!).
Today has been a NSD, I had to drive over to Dartford for a visit this morning, then came home and went for a quick walk and worked from home. Got through renewals for contents insurance and Internet, both have gone up, so I need to shop around. I really don't want to change Internet provider but I'm not paying an additional £15 a month!9 -
Today I am grateful for meds helping dc feel better (they've caught a nasty bug), for DH being out for several hours so the house was beautifully peaceful, for getting some work admin started, for easy food, for online books.

I'm going to miss Ken, @beanielou, he'll be leaving a big hole to fill. Not sure if Pop master will continue after he retires, so very pleased I was able to take part the summer before last. Not keen on the new afternoon presenter anyway...
Not an easy day at work, so was glad when I could escape the building! Slept an hour once I got home. DH has been told to go to our local hospital on Monday, but Aberdeen are keeping an eye on things.
Decided not to sew tonight. Practiced Norwegian, then I've spent the evening knitting & watching TV with DH (I'm fully masked up).
Grateful for home time, sleep, time to knitUse it up, wear it out
