Today is NSD Number 1 !!!! I ache today, think it is hormonal, woke in the night with aching joints, woke in the morning feeling steamrollered, mid morning sciatica-ish, then freezing cold, so abandoned the rest of the day and went and fantasised I was a teabag (hot bath and a book), it worked on the feeling cold and a lot of the aches, but horrible ache in my calf is annoyingly persistent.Made a Toad in the Hole for supper, then found out - while I was deliberately not making cake this afternoon (when I wanted one), so I did not tempt DH while he is motivated to diet, he confessed he had a cake while he was at work, so I have just made a vanilla and biscoff traybake, and they can all s0d 0ff!!If I have things I share, if they have things, they eat them all themselves under the covers. I just wondered.........Does anyone know what happened to the original Kat?
I was thinking about some of the amazing dedicated stories I have read here over the years and pondered how she was doing?Nevertheless she persisted.9 -

@Toni'sfriend wishing you a good recovery.
Just realised we're quite an international bunch. Turtles in Spain, the US, I'm a German expat in Scotland etc.
No NSD again as I succumbed to buying snacks and ordered a night time tooth guard and two books on foraging. Last year we had an amazing mushroom season but I wasn't prepared. Years ago I looked into wild edible plants, picked wild brambles and crab apples etc. I would like to go walking more often this year and forage. Grew up foraging mushrooms, hazel nuts and beech nuts but there is so much more and I only appreciate it now.
Bit of gardening tomorrow and the weekly shop. So no NSD againDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/259 -
Hugs Toni'sfriend.
Good evening turtles, I've had a busy day again and the internet kept cutting out but I've finally sprayed the mattress with stain remover and covered it with a wet cloth, had a good wash and used the leftover water and some rags to greatly improve about a third of the bathroom floor (including all the awkward bits around the doorway and where the indentations of the architrave are).
Went downstairs and was told DS3 and Beloved were watching anime together so the things I wanted him to do would have to wait. I went outside and moved 6 x 30 l pots using the old walker which is getting rusty now. They are all raspberry canes and blackcurrant bushes and will be going in the raised bed inside the wall when I get round to rebuilding the broken down bit, but for now they are on the wall. The last two pots went down a level so I should now be able to get the builder's plank out. The last two pots can go on the little wall after I've moved the plank out that way.
After anime we still had an hour and a quarter before mum's lodger arrived, so DS3 swept the remaining rubbish across to me for bagging, picking up any useful items and adding them to my couch. He then cleared out everything from around his exercise bike (1 more book, 2 more blankets, more cardboard, a bit of rubbish and a platypus) and then helped me get the pile of 'moving' boxes behind the table top.
Next I asked him to move the couch forward, remove the cushions, pick up all the litter and then he and Henry hoovered up all the crumbs at the back and sides of the couch. Meanwhile I went behind the couch and swept out all the things behind and under the couch. My 3 orange trees have been moved from the window sill and put back in the yard and given a good drink. The window sill was swept/ wiped out. All the various bags of rubbish and recycling went out to the bins.
The couch went back, the cushions were put in place and then we sat there side by side. I ate a couple of wraps. Lodger came and went. I dragged my footstool across and put my legs up and as soon as DS3 went to bed I curled up on the sofa with a duvet, book and laptop wearing my CPAP mask in case I fell asleep. Watched part of a film until the internet gave up, then read and dozed. Fixed a froglet but definitely done for the day. I don't have much planned for tomorrow, need to rest before my appointment and long trek on Sunday (have an idea or 2 about food to take with me).
Grateful for mattress cleaning (going to leave the solution on at least overnight), big couch moving and rubbish removal, just being done with a big part of that particular elephant (it's been messy but I've had things part done several times and given in without seeing things through to the end - now I want it done and it will be done).8 -
I've been crazy busy so far this month, so my 1st check in but 2nd NSD.
Plans for the month- paint, declutter and tidy up, sort the pension situation and increase my exercise levels.
Tonight I have filed a load of paperwork that was waiting to be filed, but I've also reorganised some financial files so 2 folders condensed into 1 which is in a more sensible order.
As always the to-do list for the weekend is ridiculously long, so I'll see how much of it I can get done tomorrow.9 -
